Wild Game or Fish

If this exists the super search feature failed to direct me...

I would love everyone to post plates of food from something they caught or killed hunting.

First up....ugly plate but a southern classic, fried venison and onions...I like to put pepper powder in the breading.

Here's a few fish from a spearfishing trip. From left to right Boarfish, Australian Salmon and King George Whiting.

Boarfish was 45cm long which is quite large for the species.

Boarfish prepped for the oven. Oregano, Parsley, Mint, Thyme (all fresh from my garden) garlic, lemon, salt, pepper and a little soy sauce and olive oil.

Boarfish has a very white, firm flesh and is an excellent table fish. Only one can be taken per person per day. Ugly but delicious.......

Yeah, they're real weird lookin. Sad thing is though they're real inquisitive and will swim up to you for a closer look, then they end up on my dinner plate.

I don't take every one I see though, as they're not that common. Very good eating though.

Thought I would kick this thread up a notch for Joyner.

Hmmm...I'll pass

Turn your head if you squeemish.

Those little grinders don't get the job done.  I built a real arm grabber.

Not your arm...the deers.  This will keep you from losing your arm.

How about some venison salami

Or some venison jerky

I have burnt up all those other smokers and rusted out 2 of the stack weber types charcoal and propane.  This big chief just keeps putting out.   Nothing to rust just a new burner.  It is really nice for a cool smoke.

The chase continues this year....out to the farm in a few weeks to start prepping. I cannot believe how much deer is in my FLOG nd it should have been posted here!

Had to choice but to shoot this one. I grunted him and another large shooter into me while sitting behind a ghost blind on the ground. The large buck being smart stepped into the woods to flank me and get downwind. When he got within 10 yards all his vitals were hidden by branches and stuff. meanwhile this buck almost ran me over and was forced to shoot him near point blank range.

Nice meat.. However I'm not a fan of arrow hunting. I understand the sport, but I'd opt for a 7.62x51/.308win or 7.62x63/.30-06spfd with a 10.7g/165gr gameking (HPBT) or 9.7g/150gr prohunter (SPT) instead.

I figure a clean shot is still an instant kill, but youtube made me a bit anti arrow hunting. This is not meant to flame against you, I just prefer the most humane way.

Here it's rare to shoot a deer, we only have wild bar, Reh (a small deer like, not sure how to translate), rabbits, hares, geese, ducks, pigeons.

No worries, I killed 4 deer this year and not one took an additional step. I also hunt with black powder. I prefer the skill it takes to get close to the animals personally. If I wanted I could sit back and kill deer at day at 500 yards, what fun is that?

Thompson Center .50 cal - I shot this deer because to your point some a-hole shot it but in a non vital spot. I typically would let it pass since it had potential but it had a bullet wound in its neck that I could see at 100 yards.
