Here’s a better look at the purple flower c. chacoense
flower. Still retains a bit of the purple color as it is
fading. The top leaves are ‘canoeing‘ a bit. Maybe
needs a bit of Epsom Salts? Less Light? More light?
Less water? :banghead:

I had dreams of a proud, swift germination for my flexuosums, but it turns out that the common wisdom of “about a month” was right on the money. Today, day 32, marks the first sign of life! 🎉

It’s by the netting, at the top. Looks like this seed was near the surface, so it’s a bit “premature”, with its root hairs showing, but I’ll hope for the best and that backups pop up soon.

Four days ago, I moved them from a dark closet at about 75F to a bright germination tray at about 85F. Hard to say if that triggered something or if they were ready to come up regardless.

I’m hoping someone could ID this for me. Another grower found this in their garden in South Africa and is asking for an id.

@PeriPeri - Looks like a bird pepper of some kind.
Short, detached calx teeth might give someone
better informed than I what it might be. Great for
your friend to just find nice peppers growing in
their garden!

@Pr0digal_son might have a better idea of what it is.
@CaneDog would be another good source.

Thank you Paul, Portuge has replied. It caught my eye straight away. It is very rare for South Africa. Not many growers here growing wilds.
 
My OW Lanceolatum seems ready to bloom. The plant was cut back to sticks by rabbits toward the end of last season, but has come back strong. Most of the other OW wilds are starting to grow in well too after being pruned back for coming inside.

This bacc var bacc sprouted 3 weeks ago and it's been a battle keeping it alive. After a transplant and relocation it's finally starting to show a little sturdiness and true leaf growth. I had only a couple seeds and only this one sprouted, so all my eggs seem to be in this one basket.

Wild Brazil Orange - This guy was also slow after sprouting, but seems to be better now.
