I wasn't aware that they were more tolerant ofStick with it @PaulG at least you know the flex can keep going outside when others struggle with temperatures!
I have 4 C.flexuosum growing this year and three of them have done the same with flowers initially. Hundreds of dropped flowers but then they've flipped to converting 80%+ to pods. Lots of small pods initially but plenty putting on size now.
Surprisingly even some of the smaller pods have given me seeds this year when in the past they'd have been seed free. 10+ seeds from the first two tiny ripe pods yesterday.
No apologies necessary, John. I thought that wasJeez!! I aplogize for wasting your time and resources. All I had growing with those tepins were galapagoense, pubes, one baccatum and the rest were small podded plants that mostly were not capable of crossing due to chromosome numbers.
An example for youI wasn't aware that they were more tolerant of
cool temperatures, that gives me some hope!
I hear that, my friend.Looking good, @PaulG. It's definitely time for the peppers to get it into high gear and finish strong.
CAP 524 c. chacoense. Sat through the Summer
heat with nary a flower. Now that temperatures are
dropping, it is flowering profusely and setting berries.
Purported to be cold tolerant, so maybe we’ll get
some ripe berries! Seeds from Semillas la Palma, 2021.
I've had some ripe from:Great to see those wilds getting their ripe on, CC!
Causing me to be impatient for some of my more
'exotic' varieties to do the same, although the
c. cardenasii has a couple of ripening berries at
the moment.
It often seems to be difficult. I probably missed more than I got, but I got a some good ones!Great additions to this thread, CD.
Some nice work isolating with your
plants, something I just didn’t get a
handle on this season.
