The Aji Blanco Cristal looks pretty cool. Isn't it a pretty mild Baccatum?
Personally a fan of the Chinenses myself but maybe one day i'll find some room for a couple.

Hey Candice no probs with the Aji Cajamarca, I brought the seeds from Ajijoe. The Aji Cajamarca is a Baccatum which I was trying to track down Cajamarca the Chinense version.
Maybe just maybe I am onto the Chinense version, we'll see.

Nice to see some heads popping up there Dazastar

Micca

Hey micca the blanco i tried was pretty mild but it tasted chinense like. Very juicy crunchy pod that left me wanting more. :P

If you guys are looking for a C. Baccatum with a really fantastic flavour and a good heat, then this is the one to try;
its really crisp and has a taste and smell very much like pineapple with heat. I was really surprised with this one
,I'd say that it is way much better than the Aji Lemon and grow in length to approx 6in/150mm.

Blondie/C. Baccatum

Hey JR

Your freezer looks like mine! well the contents. Looks like you will need another one very soon!
The Blondie is one that I wanted to grow (mainly for the looks) but the only source I found thought it was a bit expensive for the amount of seeds you get.

Well my plants in the hydro setup are booming! I'm so impressed with how fast they are growing atm.
The next lot of seeds are starting to pop up. I have 4/12 that have emerged and these ones will be used for the hydro system in the hothouse in a few weeks. I wish I started all the systems at the same time because it would be interesting to see if they grew at the same rate or how much the hothouse ones lagged behind because of no artificial light.

Also just went out and cleaned up some pots to overwinter. Did weeding, pruning, spraying and added a bit of slow release fertiliser cos they all need something. These I will overwinter but will not go to too much trouble of protecting them. Usually I put them in my hothouse or undercover but will probably leave a heap out and then there are quite a few in a shadecloth tunnel so that may be enough to keep them going.

I have to agree.. excellent seed soaking equipment. I might just use that method as I have moved things around and quadupled my grow box area. Put in a new light fitting to make two, and I will get another one. It is an old kitchen cabinet with a roller door I found on the side of the road. I will be soaking and germinating a lot more seeds at once now.

:woohoo: First chilli seed hook and first ever Rocoto seed popped! :woohoo:

I have 5 Rocoto sprouts that came up in the garden about 2 weeks ago. I sowed the seeds from a pod that was spoiled by a string of cool wet days. I plan on leaving them mostly alone to see how this Rocoto line handles the winter. I'm not worried about losing though as I have three mature plants of the same variety.

One of the two Locato plants responded well to cooler weather of May plus foliar feeding to more than triple in size. I'm overwintering all of the other plants as part of my experiment to see what can handle the winter.

Update:
I sighted another 4 Rocoto sprouts today.

Everyone started seeds this weekend and I wanted to but I was busy pizzafying it up in the throwdown thread. Feel free to go there and vote for me if you want when the poll goes up ;) ;) ;) ... yer nobody on this forum if you don't got no flaming crown under yer name. Plus there are three little munchkins steadily destroying my house. Trays filled with chamomile tea and carefully separated and portioned out seeds do not blend well with hyperactive toddlers.

Chain those littluns up! Or shock collars

I recieved some air pruning pots today so Micca and myself can do some experimentation! I enquired on Thursday and was answered by Friday so placed my order for 100 of the seedling sized ones, with postage they cost just under 1.90 each.
Got to work this morning and they were delivered at about 8.30am, how is that for service! Can't wait to see how they go and being 200mm deep i can see some plants calling these their permanent home, see how they go anyway!

:woohoo:

Thanks to JR, I have a new experiment. Pics were taken a few days ago.
Looking forward to it though, next year should be incredible for me!

Can't wait to see how it works out. pics pics pics pleeeeeeeeeeeeease

I have three options for pics as of photobucket mobile shitting itself, rolling in Juliar Gizzards sweat and then mowing down a plate full of maggots. They are as follows.

1. Buy SD card for camera (10 clams)
2. Hit my head on wall
3. Buy photobucket

Hmmmm, decisions decisions...
