World Yawn-er, Cup

It was still a game after the first two goals,
Umm, just NO. Brazil was never in that match.

Lack of leadership on the field really killed the team.  If there were timeouts available in Soccer, they should've called one after 2-0.
Yes. No solid leadership, no discipline, no plan B.

I still can't believe it. And it can't all be attributed to not having Neymar and Silva if you ask me. I just started getting into soccer during this World Cup but even I could tell that was some garbage defending.
Brazil has been utter shit since the first match. Their first goal of the tournament came from a dive that was awarded a penalty. It only took a team playing decently to expose them properly. Another match went to penalty kicks. In reality, Brazil were fortunate to have made it as far as they did. When you are lumped in with other mediocre squads, you can sometimes come out looking brilliant. There have only been 3 or 4 functional teams in the entire tournament, and they are right where they belong.

This World Cup has been amazingly exciting.  Club ball is almost as good too.

I'll give you the first part. But I'd never agree to the second. Club ball is more fluid, more cohesive, more complete. (MLS withstanding) The players look like they actually belong together in a squad. This world cup stuff is awkward. Can't wait until it's over, and we're back in regular season. ;)

It's quite the leap to think someone doesnt understand something because they find it boring.
I think you don't understand, just because you don't understand. Why would anyone invest any time to learning something that they only show disdain for?

What you think is irrelevant. Did you learn math in school? Get the point?

You people never think anything through

What do you mean "you people!?"

Actually, I'm not with him.  Let's try and keep a positive vibe going on this topic please!  I've noticed some have lots of negative comments and don't really see the point.

This thread is about The World Cup and soccer.  If you don't like it then do not come in and comment.  Very simple.

Seems like a troll thread from post 1 and just reading the title.

Honestly it seems like the serious fans came to the wrong place.

I hear your authority though mate...and I am wearing thongs...

Pretty dull semi final.  Probably one of the more boring games of this tournament, unfortunately.  The Dutch didn't press at any point in the game and as one-dimensional as Argentina's offence seemed to be, they had the better of the scoring chances.

Neither side would've stood a chance against the Germans.  Likely a 2-0 final for Germany.

^^^ Agreed on the lack of shine.  I think after what happened to Brazil, Argentina are going to be VERY cautious and play a heavy defensive game from the start.  I think you might be on target with that scoreline.

I feel like Germany will score, and then when Argentina is forced to open up and try to equalize, the Germans will score again.  Once it's 2-0 you'll see them lock things up tight and cruise to a victory.  Depending on how aggressive they are it could get to 3-0, but I doubt it.  Argentina won't collapse like Brazil did.

Germany isn't known for their defense. I can't see Argentina not scoring. Argentina has a world class defense, but I also can't see them keeping the Germans out. Very hard call for me. I'm thinking 2-1, but just not sure... Argentina has been a bit inconsistent, but the quality is there.

The only reason I see Argentina not scoring is that against what I would consider two lesser teams they only scored 1 goal in regular and extra time.  They just haven't had the attack going for them so I can't see a goal against such a well functioning unit in the Germans.

That said, if they do score a goal, I expect it to be a golazo because it's going to take a worldy to get them one.
