World's Largest Snake found dead.

MrArboc said:
The longest snake ever recorded (not counting fossils) was a 28.5 feet long reticualated python. Anacondas rarely get longer than 20 feet.

New York Zoological Society offers a $50k reward to anyone who catches a snake over 30 feet, so go ahead and catch one. But don't go to Congo if you want to find an anaconda - they live in south america;)

Do you have to bring it to them, or will they come and get it?

Indonesian villagers claim to have captured a python that is almost 49 feet long and weighs nearly 990 pounds, a local official said.

If confirmed, it would be the largest snake ever kept in captivity.

Now five and a half years later we can safely say that it was a stunt to get media attention. Judging from the video I'd say that was an overfed obese 25 footer, max.

That's just silly! Where are you going to find a cardboard box 1 foot wide and more than 30 feet long?

JUST STUFF IT IN A FEW OF THOSE CARDBOARD TUBES THEY WRAP ROLLS OF CARPETING AROUND. YOU MIGHT HAVE TO TAPE 2 OR 3 TOGETHER BUT IT CAN BE DONE.

retic's have the claim for longest snake, while the anaconda has claim for being the biggest snake (weight & length combined, though much shorter than a retic)
