off-topic You know what really grinds my gears?!?

Marines. Family of Marines. Hate the peacock attitude they all have. You don't see any other branch acting the way they do. You know how to tell someone was in the marines? Don't worry they will tell you 20 times in the first 10 mins of meeting them. 
 
Even worse are family of Marines. Wife had a friend who's husband was a Marine (and not very long) EVERY TIME I SEEN HER she was spouting off about how he was a marine and he would kick so and so's ass. WE GET IT YOU WAS IN THE MARINES... NOW STFU

TNRedit: Last I heard they get $840 a month for her and three small kids. That lasts them about a week and a half. Do you know how long I could feed myself and 3 kids on $840?! A looooong time and that is eating like kings!

can't spout off about that stuff as I know the program is in place for those who need it.  And I do know several people who have used the program as intended as a StopGap and then they got their shit together, lifted up their bootstraps and moved on.   But the long term abuses of the programs.....

we paid $1000 a month out of pocket for health insurance and through some stupid loophole, when hubby went back to work under a union contractor, there was some weird 1 month when our self-pay expired and the employer pay hadn't kicked in yet.  Sure as Shit, the Kid had something happen to the tune of $8500 for an ambulence ride, 5 hours in 2 different hospitals......and we paid for that out of pocket....
 
 
only to find out 2 years later we should of contacted the union reps, they could of worked something out.

This same wild snorlax got into a fight with an 80+ year old WW2 vet with a walker over the last rascal scooter at Wal-Mart. I guess if she didn't destroy 3 bags of Doritos and 2+ boxes of Little Debbies a day, she wouldn't be having this weight issue and worrying about whether or not she is going to have enough food stamps to feed her fat ass for the month. She thinks a taco salad is healthy and qualifies as a true salad. She doesn't even work. She won't. I even remember a big hissy fit she got into with her landlord because he wanted her to pay to replace the pipes (that were buried in CONCRETE!) that she busted under her tub because of her excessive weight.
 
I've always wanted to throw a small object at her to see if she has her own gravitational pull so I can watch it orbit around her...
 
TNRedit: This is coming from someone who is NOT skinny. I am overweight and I blame no one but myself. I take responsibly for my weight problem and I am working on my weight and in the past two weeks I have dropped close to 15 pounds in an effort to change my life.

Not sure who that is directed at-
but as a person who has never drawn unemployment or welfare, I have small tolerance for abuses of the system.  I know people who have gone through the Labor&Industry previously injured/retraining program and went on with their new training to work in their new field for 20+ years.  I know single moms who used food stamps for a year or 2 and then got their shit together and got back to work.
 
They didn't use their single mom status as an excuse not to work..

Everyone is getting heavily discounted beef, pork, milk, wheat, and corn to name a few, because of government subsidies.
 
It's always interesting to hear the farmers who get said subsidies still cry about welfare.
 
It's OK, GM.....It's all good.......I'm done venting now.  Isn't that what this thread is for?
