off-topic You know what really grinds my gears?!?

Not sure who that is directed at-
but as a person who has never drawn unemployment or welfare, I have small tolerance for abuses of the system.  I know people who have gone through the Labor&Industry previously injured/retraining program and went on with their new training to work in their new field for 20+ years.  I know single moms who used food stamps for a year or 2 and then got their shit together and got back to work.

They didn't use their single mom status as an excuse not to work..

Well you claim abuse of the system, so while its nice to know you know people who use it as intended you said nothing about knowing anyone who abuses it.

It grinds my gears that people cant logic.

Try to help, it feels good and it's karmic.

We have all tried to help, but this woman is in serious denial about her situation. You can't help those who don't want to be helped. She knows how we feel and if she wanted to help herself and stop being a scab on society, you bet we'd be there to support her! But no, she is like a drug addict. She can't face the truth.

TrueNorth already posted a classic example of system abuse,  I didn't think it necessary to expand on that.  We all know of people who abuse the system.  What example do you have of abuse of The System?

How about the women who crank out a new baby every 9 months by a different daddy? To them, being breeders is a paycheck and every new illegitimate child they crank out is a pay raise.

I'm with you on this. I am all for helping out those who want to help themselves in their time of need, but few things get under my skin more than those who just want to live on everyone else's dime.

And yes, I am all for mandatory drug testing for government assistance! If you can afford your bag of weed, then you can afford to buy your own groceries or pay for your own home.

Less than 1% of us aren't being fleeced by The System.

This doesn't work, but I agree that it sounds logical.

Unfortunately, it doesn't work. In a perfect world it would, but there are too many loopholes that get exploited. Work hard, folks! Millions on welfare depend on you!

f**king Diabetes! Watched Sniper at the movies. Had to get up three times to pee!

Great movie.

Oooh, I am not diabetic, but I take hydrochlorothiazide for my blood pressure, so I understand the frustration that frequent urination causes. You have my sympathies!

50 Shades of Gray, that movie grinds my gears. Worst fcking movie I ever sat through. Bright side I found a 20 on the way out. So at least had a refund and an additional $3 for pain and suffering.

I mean ... you knew, right? ...

It's functionally equivalent to a harlequin romance novel ...

Lol from the pages i've heard quoted from the book I'd say the movie was slightly better written. I mean I only had to see her bite her lip not read the author say it  10k times.  "She moans, he moans, she moans again and bites her lip"

One the biggest book to movie let downs for me was Congo. As much as I hope they make a movie series based on Drizzt by R.A Salvatore I Know I would be horribly disappointed with it.

well, I haven't seen the movie so can't compare.

So that could be a good GrindGears...... The Movies are Never as Good as the Book!!!

This is coming from someone who is NOT skinny.
I hear you (and Salsa). I'm not skinny either, but that's because of well earned ribs, steak and pulled pork. I'm not obese or anything but it's going fast after I got a desk Job in civil life.

Here those people get 1100 (net income) euro a month, a ~15% refund on there rent, don't have to pay for sewage tax, garbage disposal etc. Ofcourse this is hard to compare to the US as some things are far more expensive/cheaper than in the US. Effectively having the same income as someone that is starting with hard un- or low educated labour. So a young mason, constructer, roadworker, landscaper etc is ruining their back and joints where a pig is feeding themselve from charity.

Yes.. that really grinds my nerves. Especially if they have smokers or adopt pet.

I grew up with little so my parents stopped smoking instantly and my mom took an extra Job cleaning. We had to work on the farm for pocket money (picking beans, strawberries, blue berries since I was 9yo). We never took charity except for some well meant casseroles. As we were fighting bankruptcy for the farm we never even able to request help.

It's good that there is social security, but there are just too many leaching of our tax. They should force those people to stop smoking and if they are capable of working, make them serve coffee to the elderly in nursing homes or something.
