contest August Throwdown

Seafood sounds great. This will be my first throwdown. Is it limited to fish? I have some fish in mind. But if Im doing seafood, Ive got to get some Crawfish in there with it. Cold pastas always a good starter/side too. This is going to be fun. I have so many little wheels turning right now. I love cooking. I might only be making the spicy for me and one other though. Everybody else can only handle my mildish dishes (hot for them) This should be fun.

In my opinion, it should have some fish in it. It can have other seafood too, but the throwdown should be FISH. Any kind (including sardines and anchovies?).

JS, congrats on entering your first throwdown. Looking forward to your entry!!

Where's Yabba??? After entering drunken chef, Yabba better be in on the throwdown (smackdown)!!!!!!!!
(I swear I have no idea who Yabba is, it's kinda fun to encourage a random newbie to join in the fun!!)

I did my huge summer surf and turf BBQ last weekend so personally I'm hoping for something other than fish for the throwdown, otherwise I have to get out fishing very soon and/or call in some favors from friends in the North and the East

usually they start on Friday early afternoon eastern time and postings usually have to be in by sunday evening sometime. Paulky's right, stay tuned. THP always posts the official rules and the proof of life. That is a monetary amount that you have to include with one of your pictures so everyone knows they are new. Usually the rules are broad enough that everyone can participate in some capacity. If it is indeed fish, I would imagine all types of fish would be acceptable.

Count me in if it's fish throwdown as I have a top secret fishmen only wahoo marinade that I will have to share. The problem with fish throwdown is it's all how it taste and really the best is nothing but butter and lemon on a freshly caught fish. Tight lines.

Lemon and butter on TheHotPepper? Boooooooo surely you can be more imaginative.

This is going to be epic. I think I will practice up this weekend. I think some grilled lobsters and lump crab stuffed shrimp with garlic butter sauce may be in order.

Anybody on here like the fishy fish, or like most prefer a milder fish? Once upon a time, I worked at Joes Crab Shack and The RailRoad Seafood Station (San Antonio) and have come to know many recipes and tricks of the trade. I think I might throw in something with some Orange Roughy and some flounder. Probably an overnight marinade. Who knows. Whatever it is, hopefully Ill be up to par with everyone here. Do we take pics or what? Do we just post the recipes and procedures?
