    Finally ripe peppers but...

I'd wait a little while, iv'e had similar things happen with some of mine.  The first few to ripen are seedless or have very few seeds, even if other green ones are packed with seeds.  I'd say time will fix it.

    2016 Pepper Hauls

Plate full of morugas, then some mystery ornamental pepper from a friend, super chili hybrid, red and green serranos, a couple of red habs, and a mystery superhot, sold as a "reaper."

    Tricots

Sounds like i have a lot of mutants! A buddy of mine just started some of my seeds, and got a lot of tricots too, so i guess i can rule out the radon in the basement as the cause! haha

    Tricots

Yeah, two of my overwinters show similar characteristics as yours, one stem always branches into threes, while the other stems fork into two. I see you topped your plants early too?  I'll take some pictures tomorrow.

    Tricots

By watching them carefully I mean seeing which plants are wilting and need water.  I'm not that much of a noob ;)  I have my seedlings under T5s in my basement that is a constant 64 degrees.  I haven't had any quads, just a bunch of tricots.  From what i've read, tricot seedlings typically...

    Tricots

Gotcha.  I had only (unsuccessfully) grown bells from seed before last year, and every one of the seeds I germinated was a standard dicot.  This was the first year i was able to actually care for my plants without a ton of interruptions, so i've been watching them like a hawk hahaha.

    Tricots

Guess I just got lucky with this set of seeds then!  6 out of 12 seedlings seems pretty lucky lol

    Tricots

Ok, so this is my second season growing what I assume are moruga scorpions.  I saved seeds from my pods from last summer.  They were an amazon seed purchase to burn up a gift card, and i currently have three plants overwintering inside.  Surprisingly, they grew a superhot, what particular...

    Brain Strain vs TS morouga

Don't want to further confuse things, but I grew some "morgua scorpions" I bought from Amazon, and some of my pods look identical to your yellow 7 pot brain strain, except they ripened to red.

    i think i got burned

    That is true

Two distinct phenos on one plant?

Ive got a moruga scorpion (?) that has textbook moruga scorpion pods as well as pods that look like bhuts.  First year growing, so i'm still learning.

    i think i got burned

Those look identical to the "Caribbean Red" habs i picked up from a local nursery.  Still very hot, made a great smoked powder!

    pepper plant is kill

I used to live just up the Northway from you, in the Saratoga area.   I grew morugas for the first time this summer, if you want some seeds from my pods PM me, i kinda miss upstate NY and the capital region haha.  I got some mean looking peppers, and they seem to be better adapted to the...

    Finally, my first ripe Morgua(?)

This was my first year growing, and my Amazon seeds were a way to use up the last $4 on a gift card, so I have to admit that I'm thoroughly impressed, especially considering the horror stories I've read about ebay/amazon seeds.  Next year I'm going to grow from seeds from the plants I have now...

    Finally, my first ripe Morgua(?)

Picked it and cut it open today.  Insides were literally dripping with oil.  By far the hottest pepper I have ever tasted, confirmed my suspicion that my buddy's "reapers" from last year weren't reapers, but some kind of red habanero.

    Finally, my first ripe Morgua(?)

So I grew some "moruga scorpion" seeds from amazon, and they're finally starting to ripen.  Now that they're ripening, and I have 30+ full grown, but still green pods, I'm starting to wonder what seeds I actually got.  There are about 3 different pod shapes on my plants, some look like moruga...

    What is this?

Yeah, this place has been great!  Since joining this site earlier this year, I think I've figured out the places to buy from for next years grow!!  I recently planted fall peas and radishes, and since our winter was brutal last year, I'm already thinking about next year's pepper grow. Picked up...

    What is this?

Thanks guys, like I said, after reading the amazon/ebay seed horror stories on here, I was pretty relieved to get something that looked pretty wicked and not bells or some other common variety i can get a the local nursery.  Even if they aren't morugas, I think that this was $3 well spent!

    What is this?

Cool!  The seeds were a little something i bought to use up a gift card.  I was happy that when it started setting pods they didn't turn out to be bells! I have 2 large plants in 5 gallon buckets of pro-mix.  I'll post another picture when they start ripening.

    What is this?

Bought these seeds from Amazon back in february, I know, first time grower mistakes.  They were sold as moruga scorpions.  Are they?  Right now im just happy that I didn't get bell peppers or plain old habaneros.
