Thanks everyone. Ikeepfish thats exactly the stuff I got. I would use grass clippings if the snow would ever melt lol going to be a short season. I suspect I'll be ripening fruit indoors under lights this year.
Nitrogen hey? Alright- will look! thanks do you think I should put them in slightly larger pots with some new soil too? They were moved to 1.5g pots in the fall and I can see they are out growing them. They will go into the ground once it thaws up here.
As the title asks..
Have a few nice superhot variety yearlings coming back my carolina reaper is beginning to drop leaves all others look great. What can I feed it? My options are limited to walmart or canadian tire. Both an hour drive.
I'm assuming the soil is spent?
Thought about it but our first frost will be mid to late september so id be SOL if I did. I'll just let it be and over winter maybe next year itll do better.
Pepperdan funny you should mention that as all my peppers get the same fertilizers etc. And my scotch bonnets are huge. As you said I too have a few golf ball sized ones. And my carolina reapers are quite big to. Its odd. That why I ask cause the other plants seem well but the habs and noticing...
Well i've had a good look at all the plants I dont see any bugs. At least not visible ones. As for disease being a rookie I wouldnt know what to look for. Any other fert suggestions? Ive read a bit about epsom Salts and fish emuslion
Yeah these are your typical orange habaneros so they don't get huge but I know they should be bigger. I'm feeding miracle grow currently 18:18:21
Nitrogen phosphate and potassium.
I have another one that is 20:30:20
Nitrogen: phosphoric acid: potash(k2o)
Not sure which will be better.
As the title states I have a few habs no bigger then a penny on one plant and they are already ripening. I tried one they have good heat and flavour but I would like to try to stop it if possible to allow the rest to grow a bit more first. Any tips?
Butter hey? Does this affect. the canning or bottling shelf life? Ive read to steer clear of dairy for those reasons but I assume you could always add butter to your hot sauce as you need it.
I have a good crop for my first year coming soon. I have a few hot sauces I will be making but would also like to try to make a buffalo wing sauce.
Dies anyone know what give sauces like franks buffalo that signature "Buffalo" taste? Is it something I can make from scratch?
Thanks! Exactly the answer to the question ;) I will be posting pics in a month or so as I have a few just starting to ripen so I'd expect to harvest in the month. I like the woozy bottles for appearance but the canning seems to be more "tried and true" in terms of shelf life etc. Its a big...
Sorry for the late reply working all day.
I'm wondering what the best method Of preserving the sauce is for a rookie. I know canning isnt overly difficult nor is bottling but don't really know the over all process of canning and shelf life once canned be it opened or unopened. Any tips would...
