For years I've coveted a BGE for its versatile excellence.
 
Fantastic for grilling, baking, or smoking.
 
But then I realized I might not use it as much as I thought.
 
Then of course I had an epiphany and turned my attention to my true object of desire.
 
The flat top griddle/plancha.
 
Couldn't be happier.
 
BUT....
 
Had I not gotten the flat top, I'd have a BGE sitting on my back porch right now.

I think the Big Green Egg is like a premium version of the WSM (and I love my WSM). The real advantage is the insulation. Unfortunately, you need a Big Green Wallet to afford the BGE.

The Weber will last you long on the gas side, my good friend has gone through 2 very expensive gas grills in the same amount of time I have had the Weber. I mean he spent 1200+ on each of them and they rusted out, bad IR and all kinds of crap, he is getting a Weber soon hahahah
