Ohhhhhhhhh! Hahahahahahahaaha. There's a member named JayT who puts beer in his roux. Apparently it's a "thing" but not in NOLA lol!

Made the Christmas Eve chili on Friday.

2lb ground venison
2lb 80/20
2lb ground pork
10 large, roasted poblano peppers
4 roasted green bell peppers
3 large onions
1 can tomato puree
1 can diced tomato
6 large cloves garlic
One metric ass-ton of quality chili powder
3 TBSP ground cumin
1 Guinness extra stout
1 quart beef stock

Let it simmer for a couple hours.....then immediately refrigerated it......

.....took it back out at 6am today....and gonna let it simmer till dinner tonight:

Yep.....with the seafood stock for the gumbo.....and this giant pot of chili.....both simmering on my stove.....

....it's beginning to smell a lot like CHRISTMAS!!

And paulky rocks it again.

With no beans!

mrs. blues and I don't do traditional stuff on Christmas, Easter, or Thanksgiving.

Tomorrow she's having pan seared filet mignon with garlic mashed tates.

I'm gonna' whip up a Katsu chicken plate lunch with rice and mac salad.

Now for the weirdness.

I haven't eaten chicken or rice in years.

Okay that was a lie.

I always sample mrs. blues chicken and mushroom fett.

But just a sample.

Vegetarians.

Pescatarians.

Eventually....

They all eat chicken.

Why thank you sir!!

Yeah.....I'm pretty firm about the NO BEANS thing.......

.....however, I do keep a can of pintos on hand.....just in case there's "one of those kind" in the group....

;)

The wife's family does soups for Christmas dinner, I always forget until we get there and it sucks. When I asked my mom what she was making tonight she said everything! So that's good, and when she asked what I wanted I said 8 chocolate pies. I will try to get a picture or two

You sir are a saint!

I always ask my guests...

"Hey I've got some chile...beans or no beans?"

"Beans."

"Sorry all out."

"Here's a tuna fish sammich."
