DaSauce year of pain 2019

Well its gunna be the first year devoting more space to Ghost level heat and above. In the past i just grew a couple as novelties but there are a couple that sounded interesting to try.

Hotter than habs
Jays Peach Ghost Scorpion from RFC seeds 2-3 plants
Brown Bhuts from Trents seeds. Supposed to be rather nasty from his older open pollinated Pepperlover seed stock. 4 plants
Naglah Brown from MWCH seeds. 1-2 plants
C.Reaper CCN strain seedlings. 2 plants
Dragons Breath CCN seedlings supposed to be Pepperlover strain? 2 plants
11-13 plants planned

Hab heat level
TFM bonnets from Trents seeds 2-3 plants
P Dreadies from TGCM and maybe some from my select pods too. 3-4 plants
5-7 plants planned

Pubes
Mini Red rocoto from TGCM seeds. Plants i started late last year. 2 plants
AJi Oro from seed trade. 2-3 plants
4-5 plants planned

Mild to medium annuums
Zapotec jalapeno from RFC seeds 3-4 plants
Mucho Nacho from Bonnie seedlings 2 plants
Aleppo from Ed's seeds and maybe my own too. 4 plants
Antep Aci Dolma from my seeds 2 plants
Thunder Mountain Longhorn from RFC seeds 2 plants
Hot Banana from CCN seedlings 1 plant
Hot Wax from CCN seedlings 1 plant
NuMex Big Jim Heritadge from MWCH seeds 2 plants
Tekne Dolmasi from my seeds. These are awesome for a bell type. 2 plants
19-20 plants planned

Mild to medium baccatum
Sugar Rush Peach from RFC seeds 2-3 plants
Bolsa De Dulce from seed trade 2-3 plants
4-6 plants planned

Mild chinense
Aji Panca from my seeds. Seeds are from CCN seedling last year. LOVED this pepper.
4 plants planned

So nearly half should be close to hab heat or above and way more hotter than habs ive put any effort into before. Last year i did a a fair amount of bonnets and just loved the plants this time. REALLY liked the cheap ghost seedling i got too. I figured this year i would lean towards more in the "super" range and see how it goes. Then for 2020 settle back into varieties i really enjoyed from the last 3 years.

Good Stuff, Sauce. Glad to see your Bonnets beginning
to make a turn toward the better. Mine are slowly doing
the same thing. They can't green up fast enough for me!

 Another double post. Arrrrrghhhhhh!

Sorry, bro.

       :banghead:

First the bad......Every single pod out of 4 Antep Aci Dolma looks wrong. It appears i may have mislabeled seeds i saved from Tekne Dolmasi. Im so pissed i didnt even bother to take pics. Blooms on these plants are massive for peppers and at first the pods looked about right....Not anymore they dont. At least the Tekne Dolmasi are a very good tasting pepper but they are not what i needed.

Sugar Rush Peach are beginning to grow up. Looking nice too.

Patio crew got top dressed with Happy Frog, topped with straw and a small shot of fish emulsion to wet down the EZ-Straw. Possible rain within a few days so i wanted a headstart on it

Back row: Reaper, Reaper, JPGS, Scotch Brain, TFM, Naglah Brown
Front row: Dragons Breath, Dragons Breath, JPGS, Scorpion, TFM

IMO the TFMs and the Naglah while a tad slow look really nice
rtRLnzO.jpg

Dreadies got some catching up to do
fZsdkIv.jpg

Joes Long Cayenne needed some encouragement too but the pods are cool.

Jala patch got a good shot of fertilizer the other day and a couple aji pancas added in the middle. Fish emulsion mixed with MegaCrop and top dressed. If they dont perk up soon im totally baffled. My last extra Zapotec went in a fabric pot.

Picked a couple Mucho Nacho and hot wax. Mainly because the plants are rather small. They hate all the rain.

Bolsa De Dulce pheno looks like they will be the longer variant and it looks like its gunna crank out pods too.

Moved plants around a little. Partially for sun/shade management and to keep similar varieties closer to each other.

Naglah Brown, Scotch Brain and Scorpion. The main stem size on the naglah is impressive for its height. Da Brain is starting to produce too

4 Dreadies on the left and a couple TFMs on the right. 2 volunteers in the back i think are some kind of anuums. Mght be jalapenos and my jalas still look like shit. Gone put them in a bigger pot soon.

2 JPGS. I got another out front thats a bit smaller but in a huge pot.

I don't really like that your weather is better than ours

Let's see some pics of those exploding plants after a
few days of that! I can't believe those night lows

Our highs aren't that high right now

Plants are loving the higher UV index. Everything is greening up nicely except for Stumpy out front. Got 3 more Early Girls almost ripe too. Squirrels have not found the mater out front but we did lose our largest tree out back a couple months ago. They may have moved on to better lodgings...I hope...My cam batteries nearly died so i had to cut it a bit short.

First my "fubar" that were supposed to be antep aci dolma is likely tekne dolmasi....Not a total loss because they are good eats and i dont have any other sweet bell types.
Nw32nOD.jpg

These bolsa de dulce from a seed trade are just gorgeous and huge. Many many pods on these 2 plants and the third one is starting to pod up also. All the pods i can find are the longer pheno.

Top 2..other 4 below them are SRP

Bonnets...i got a little nutrient burn on the TFMs (yellow pots) trying to stay on top of all the rain we got.,,,Didnt get a pic of my best TFM that is podding. Batteries are charging now
6lJ395Z.jpg

I will get a better pic of the CCN/Pepperlover Dragons Breath later. They are the 2 on the right and they look GREAT!!! CCN Reapers on the left look really nice too.

Naglah brown, Scotch Brain and Scorpion which was just starting to droop. Pic was just before watering. The 2 little guys infront are volunteers. I think it might be a chichimeca jalapeno.

Really nice aji oro with plenty of nice pods. Its been just a killer plant since it started to kick in gear.

These bolsa de dulce are just pod machines and this is the smaller of the 3 (Member seed trade)...Super happy with these so far
L1MrEDf.jpg

My poor jala patch. 4 plants in back (top) are Zapotecs. Plus 2 Mucho Nacho, 2 aji panca and 2 tekne dolmasi. I had 3 volunteer burr gherkins pop and decided just to let them grow.
YtDtrmd.jpg

Zapotec in a fabric pot i planted much later is already larger and far better looking.

I just read pretty much of your glog and it's great to see the start to where you are now.

Nice work Scott!

Pretty soon you will really be saying "what the hell do I do with all of these now?" Me, I share them with the custodians at work. They love it ;)

Keep it green!

Ive got some ripe JPGS off the first one to produce. I was a bit surprised i had a ripe pepper that hot this early. Already started a sauce with them but it needs more bulk so im waiting on a couple Sugar Rush Peach that are almost ripe. Really hoping to retain the peach color.
7dBMtvb.jpg

So im thinking JPGS is likely to be added to "the A list". This year was all about experimenting and trying my hand at some supers. I think i would like to add one more from the super list or the Scotch Brains. Ease of growing and high yield are a must since plants like those will only include a couple plants next year. I sure as hell dont need anywhere near the amount of supers i got going atm. :D

I still have one more to try next year.....7 Pot Primo :P

The pod phenotypes look to be right on, Scott!
