My obsession with heat and food...JoynersHotPeppers

I have been a long time lurker and finally joined. I figured I'd start posting some of the things I cook or make with the peppers I grow.

First up

This is a Thai Cucumber salad I make with a rare Japanese cucumber I grow, peppers and cilantro are mine as well. I'll take better pictures with the next batch. I have enough stuff right now to do about 10 more 32oz jars.

How'd you like the Black Label prototype?
It was great, I think roasted Jals will elevate it for sure. I could taste the sweet upfront, followed by garlic/onion and then the heat. I used over 1/2 the bottle, I do have a tolerance I suppose.

Victory Brewing is the Shiz! Golden Monkey, anyone?

Highly recommend River Horse as well, also in the Beer Valley, PA area.
Yep, they have a place in Philly at Xfinity live. Drinking that stuff on tap is ruthless

Sorry in advance, picked up something new at our Costco, beef loin flap steak. It is about 2 inches wide in 8 to 10 inch strips. I just made up some chimichurri and have the meat marinating before it hits the grill. in addition, made a huge batch of salsa. The plan is to have chimichurri steak tacos with fresh salsa and avocado. I think I'll be breaking out the real camera for this, iPhone will not suffice! Stay tuned...

So the beef loin flap steaks are more like 3 to 4 inches wide, here they are before heading to the grill.

wow ... the textured appearance of the meat is phenomenal ...

in fact, it's the second thing of late that makes me want to break out the 5D ... maybe ...

i'm hypothesizing JHP is shooting his TD w/ a real cam ;) ...

You betcha! Costco here just started offering that cut of meat and it is amazing! Made my version of Chang's Mongolian beef last night and it was superb!

Walkerswood makes amazing Jerk, these 15 are off to the oven, another round coming later but fried and sauced with a kicked up sauce using our powder.

How is fresh fennel? ... I love fennel seed, but somehow doubt the flavors are aligned in any significant way - or is at least significantly more subtle when fresh?!? ...
