SL's pepper porn..

Nice harvest! Must be fun to harvest and start new plants almost simultaneously. Those okra look great--the wife unit says I MUST improve my okra-growing skills.

Thanks again for your info about the siling labuyo. The photos you posted helped the Auntie Network get some seeds from the Philippine provinces. A few have just hatched in their baggies and about to hit the pots. This will be a late start, but will see how it goes. My first "wild" pepper, I'm pretty excited about that....

No problem. Okra is much easy to grow compared to peppers IMO. i just let them grow on their own. I just water them and no special care given

Looking great Erwin! You are a pepper growing machine! I'm really looking forward to hearing what you think of the flavor and heat level of that possible Red Savina/Douglah cross. Wish I could ID some more of those seeds. Oh well. :)

Thanks Patrick. Regarding the taste of red savina x douglah, I'm not sure about the heat level coz my tongue already got numb after tasting a morsel of each pepper on the pic but its tastes and smells like douglah. :onfire: :D Too bad there are no good seeds inside. :(

First time reading this post. Don't know how I missed it. Nice peppers. I like the
black pearl from gimus, nice ornamental. Good luck with your hot sauce, it
looks like it's going to be really hot.

Thanks Linda. I posted my hot sauce here: My link

Hmm...so it turned red, actually looks a little orange-ish too...interesting. For those that don't know, the seeds for this came from a fatalii, unless I got the seeds mixed up somehow, but I don't think that's the case, so this must be some kind of fatalii cross. I can't remember if I saved any fatalii seeds from the ones I grew, but I do know that I saved some from a fatalii that someone sent me in the mail along with some bhut jolokias. So if it's from those seeds and not my own, it's hard telling what it might be crossed with. If it's from seeds I saved from my own plant, I think it's probably crossed with orange habanero (came from the nursery, so it could even be crossed too) or carribean red based on location and the color and shape of the pod. There were bhut jolokias nearby as well but I think it would probably be pointy if it were a bhut jolokia x fatalii. You'll have to let us know how it tastes. :D I'll let you know what happens with the "fataliis" I'm growing which may be from the same seed (since I might have combined seeds from the one pod from the mail and from my own).

You are right. Its more Orange compared to the savina cross. What ever it is, it's one hot pepper, its the first pod I tasted on that batch. The heat is instant sharp, it made me cough.

this baby made my day this morning. :D

Thanks franz!

wow, you actually got an anaheim to ripen? sweet!
Note to self: this year, show patience like SL and let more of my peppers ripen to perfection... I probably have grown Anaheims for 15 years and never waited for one to go red. I am such an old noobie!

Speaking of being a noob, is there anything special about growing anaheims?? Never grown any myself...

Edit: Great looking plants SL!!!!

Try ignoring one pod by placing it inside a bag, in my case plastic cup and forget about it? :D

Awesome pepper porn SL lots of great pics

Thanks!

Thanks too! Uhm...not sure too. does fleshy mild heat considered special? I just sow any type of pepper seed that I acquire and cross my finger if it will give me pods. :)

Nawww, not really special. Just the opposite. But they get gobbled up around here while green and I always thought that was the norm...

Will have to post a 'no pick' sign this year to let 'some' of them do their thing. Even the more common c. annuums are cool when they get all the way red.

Very nice for the pods, i love Chupe!

For Big Black Pequin the seeds are from here:
http://www.hotchili.it/ecommerce/product.php?id_product=159

I don't know more about it 'cause last season i only growed the "normal" Pequin until the end: in the first weeks of the season the wind broke 50 annuums with the Big Black Pequin and i didn't do a second trial :(
