Ok so I went and got 5 yards of red tulle last night. I have been watching Josh's posts about isolating with it and others. I went to the fabric store and found an array of colors. Picked red on the thought that red lights help with flowering and fruit so what could it hurt. Most of the plants I have going have at least one in a bucket. Yellow scorps, Trinidad red scorps, and Butch T's will have to be isolated in the garden. So, my Bhut Jolokia in a bucket is loaded with buds and some were open and have been removed. Then a piece of tulle over with the bamboo pole to hold it up and a piece of elastic string I had tying it on. Pulled it up some after tying to loosen so it isn't restricting the plant.

There is even a ladybug trapped in there for guard duty.

Set it next to the early shade line thinking with the upcoming heat wave it should help to bring on pods.

It looks good to me. That is certainly better than mine. Covering the entire plant should make things easier. Best of luck and keep us posted.

I think I may try some next year as you have done here, only scaled down. Keep the plant in say a 1/2 or 1 gallon container. This will keep the plant fairly small. That way, hopefully I will have room for duplicates of all the plants I wish to isolate. The main plants will be for production and the duplicates will be for isolated seeds. If they only produce a handful of pods it will not matter.

So this morning I came home from work and isolated my cross project which finally had a pod set. It took about a half hour to snip that pod and all open flowers. Still 40+ unopened buds.

Then I get up this afternoon and look out front and some my back center fatalii is snapped over. No pics as I went into emergency save if you can mode. Gone . Found a spot up front where the neighbors cat was digging but methinks the snapped Fatalii may have been another culprit(not sure who). BB gun is out and the neighbor's cat's days are numbered(with his permission ). Will have to get some pics. I removed the snapped off base and roots and took one from "Bucket Row" out back and put him in there. Going to have to sure him up a little.

I'm sorry about your fatalii. It must be all that fish emulsion and blood you use. Soon all of the neighborhood cats will be flocking to your garden. : P

Brian, can you set up a bit of fencing around the fataliis in the front bed to deter the crappy kitty?

the blood went to the other side of the garden 1 time only and the fish emulsion is 2 weeks past.

Dan he will jump it as he does the 4 foot fence to get into the other neighbors yard so he can sit on their deck

Ok so this morning I started off to show the Fatalii bed then got side tracked. Was tired so I apologize for the shaky camera job. Fatalli bed is around 9:30. The next one will have better camera work.

Is that tulle fine enough to trap pollen, or is it to keep the pollinating insects away?

I am looking to keep bugs out and not seeing too much pepper pollen blowing around and being an issue

Here is my Caribbean Red Habanero. Cut off 10 pods of varying sizes and a dozen or so open flowers.

Then I decided the Naga Morich which I got seed from Pepp3rfreak and were OP next to red 7 pods so they are a toss up, but just in case. Only a few buds so it may be awhile until I see a pod on this one and then I will see if the flavor and shape are true.

Not tall but big pods

This one isn't 2 foot tall yet with several pods, one of which is 6.5 inches long hence the nickname Dolly Parton plant

Next we have a very determined Trinidad Red Scorpion

I noticed it was low to the ground for a while when small and then saw it had fallen at some point and was running along the ground so I let it be.

The bend/almost snap

Take note of the stem coming up when it turned to the sky

Edit: that stem is only a little thicker then one of them where they separate. Reminds me of massive A/V wires I have seen.

Rock on man. This f**king heat keeps making all of my blossoms drop. I brought all of my containerize Pubescens in under shade. Still no luck.

I finally moved mine under the patio into 100% indirect sunlight and the plants seem so much happier now. Actually have some flowers starting to come in now and have had a few pods set on one plant so far. More to come, I hope! hehe.
