  • We don't get our post until quite late though because the postmen are too chatty.

Con phoned me earlier after school to say he hadn't got the bus as another parent was meant to pick him up as my Mum took him in this morning with the boy from over the road because of the flooding, so the boy's Dad was meant to get them but there was a bus and Jay got on it but not Connor. I wasn't happy and I didn't half shout at poor Connor down the phone for not getting the bus. At least my meeting this afternoon was cancelled otherwise he'd have been stuck there. I begged for his forgiveness for my outburst though when he got back.
The postmen are good too, I mean one of them was telling me once that someone had addressed a xmas card "The house with the red door next to the pub, Yalding, Kent. The card got to the right house, not bad as there are a few pubs spread far apart in this village.
The do not open bit was already typed on the top of the envelope, I don't think it was added afterwards. I paid less for your postage than last time as my Mum did it at the P.O and they weigh it instead of me just shoving 3 stamps on it. Our post here is known to be good compared to the rest of the world.
Na, I reckon it's one of these companies sending out friendly cards. I've only ever once got a surprise Valentines's Day card and that was from an ex that I wanted nothing to do with, poor bloke got stuck by lightening not long after. It has a proper stamp on it though and the envelope says 'Do not open until the 14th of February'.
No it's not, I can see the design of a card inside. I thought it was seeds or something that I'd forgotten that someone was going to send but it's not. It's from Guernsay, weird.
No the envelope isn't red. Doh! I should have looked closer, it has a UK stamp but it isn't from England.
You can chat me up all afternoon! I won't be on here as much next week because of work but I'll be here in the afternoons when I do the early shift.
But you're clever and I bet you soaked in all that information. I imagine you're good at maths, I'm crap. I need to eat dinner now darling but you have me tomorrow. K x
When I was really young I loved Enid Blyton books like The Famous Five, it's a really English thing. Was it that bad when you were a kid?
I love reading, my Mum is a cataloging manager for the libraries in kent and got me reading from a young kid, Connor could read before he went to school too.
Really? That was quick, I posted that on Wednesday afternoon. How come you didn't tell me yesterday? Hey what was that link about babe?
So I managed to post in the wtong place again, I'm the champion at doing this.
That's brilliant. I'm working 6 days next week but I wouldn't do it all the time as I get paid £166 per week in tax credits and that goes down if I work too many hours. I don't know why the government pays out all these tax credits, it puts people off working full-time hours.
I doubt it, I expect that would be down to the bus company. I'm not at work now, I've got to work more shifts next week though.

How much is $835? About £300-400? That sounds really good.
They're pathetic. It wasn't the school this time though, just the bus company. If Con was a few years younger I'd have had to say you have to call him a cab to get to my work and I'll pay when he gets here because there was no way I could have left today, the cab would have cost me about £30 though. Thank fuck he had his house key with him.
I didn't do it, just the restaurant staff. Con's been off school all day, I still haven't seen him though, he's around a friends. I got a phone call from his school when he got there saying "The bus has arrived but the driver doesn't think he'll be able to get the kids home so he's bringing them back now." LOL, how stupid? Just drive the long way round like everyone else has to, they have no other pick-ups on the way.
We had strong winds and rain for 24 hours and on Yalding hill it looked like someone had scattered half a forest over the road, plus it was flooded on top of the hill, I know that doesn't make sense, that's how me and the car in front managed to plough into the water too fast. At 1pm the restaurant rang me to say we have a severe warning about being flooded in the next hour (high tide) so they got all the sand bags out. Where I work hasn't flooded for 10 years, Yalding floods at least once a year with the same river so I was a bit worried about getting home.
