What is the hottest pepper you have found for sale locally?

The place I work at sells dried chillies with Bhut's being the hottest, as far as freshgoes Scotch Bonnet are the hottest I've seen and the place that sold them was shut down by the council. I think there are other places that sell them as well though.

Still living in the same place and working in the same place, this year I'm growing some habs, prarie fire, cherry bombs and topeppo rosso, as well as some basil, chives and rosemary. Just potted a load up yesterday but I've run out of compost... too many plants again! Time to offer some out I...

I had 1 bottle of Moonraker, 1 of Fullers 1845 and a couple of other strong vintage ales. Moonraker was probably the best out of the ones I tried.

Hi Aji, I lost my log in details for THP but I'm back now and growing again, bit of a late start this year but nevermind. Thanks for the chillies you dropped off at work they caused my fiance and her mother some amusement as I popped one of the tiny white habs and started hiccuping :D the orange...

beer What are you brewing this weekend?

I'm a baby brewer and I've got 44 bottles of Woodfordes Wherry waiting to mature, going to try something not from a kit the next time. I like the idea of replicating Hebridean Gold from the Isle of Skye Brewery they use porridge oats in the brew and it's a grand beer.

    spirits The Whisky Thread

I'm currently sipping some very fine Edradour straight from the cask Sassicia finish, a good way to make up for being banned from the living room due to the "girls night".

Only one solution to that, you'll have to start a distillery :D

There's castles and distilleries all over Scotland so it's easy to combine the two. As you seem to be fond of a bit of Talisker there's castles on the way, although there are also castles on the way to most of the distilleries...

WHAT'S IN YOUR GULLET??ale vs lager

Birra Moretti (not sure if that's the correct spelling) is excellent as is Erdinger (I know it's a weissbeer but it's close enough to lager when it's sunny). I'm also partial to tesco's Bier D'Or stubbies, great for taking with you to BBQ's, parties etc and they taste quite nice as well as being...

Moyboy I hereby proclaim you an honorary Scot, that's one impressive collection especially considering the travelling the bottles have done and the extra $'s. Slainte.

    how do i make extract.

Capsaicin is the same whichever pepper it comes from but the proportion of capsaicin with the other capsaicinoids is different in different peppers. I think this is why some peppers burn feels different. * capsaicin (~70% of the capsaicinoids present and usually the only one mentioned)...

Moyboy if you ever visit Scotland and travel up the A9 stop off at the Edradour Distillery, they've got an amazing shop where they sell not only their own stuff (which is excellent) but rare silent stills stuff and things like the unchillfiltered Highland Park (at the time HP didn't sell one...

    Hardening Off

On topic I've seen some folk say having a fan on them when they're indoors helps harden them against wind... off topic that's one lazy ass rhino. They should put some dogs in heat in the next pen to show them how it's done...

pests Aphids up close and personal

I feel your pain, I've had a horrible time with the little feckers between them killing off flower buds before they open, wilting open flowers and some leaf fungus. (I don't know if it was them but I choose to blame it on them). Squish 'em now, squish 'em good, squish 'em like you know you should.

Thanks for the comments guys, I'm pretty pleased with the haul and I'm already looking forward to next year when I'll hopefully have a couple of overwintered plants and a new variety or 2. One set of windowsills got hit pretty hard by aphids and the other set got none and were waay more...
