    pests Nutes? Bugs? virus?

So, I've been growing my habs indoors since last year... and they are producing well enough... but in the last month or so some of the plants started yellowing on the branches and leaves... I guess relatively normal since the peppers are still coming ok... but they don't seem as healthy...

Sudden leaf wilt/death issue on Habanero plant

While I don't have any pictures, I was wondering what might cause a Hab to suddently wilt like it was hit with frost... I gave 3 or 4 habanero plants to a friend of mine 1 larger one with some fruit on it was growing well enough I kept it a week after potting it up before giving it to him...

hot-sauce Anyone tried "Wicked Cactus" Sauces yet??

I came across this company while killing time on the internet... but they sure do sound tempting... not to mention have some variety and focus on flavour rather than nasty extracts and horrible ingredients to just make them hot... If you tried them.. are they as good as they appear to be? and...

Pepper ID: What does this very light green (Chinense?) look like to you?

I have some peppers growing indoors and they are generally doing fairly well for it being winter and light levels being lower, but I am south facing so they are still growing well, albeit a bit smaller and more slowly... Anyway all my other peppers start very dark green or medium green and have...

sun Heat, water and sun... do Habs, Scotch Bonnet, and Black Nagas respond similarily?

As some may know... I mixed up the seeds a bit when I was planting mine... partly because I figured what the hell I could tell when they fruit.... but I started most of mine at the same time... the Habs and Scotch bonnet are a b@astard mix of supermarket seeds.. dried and tossed into the same...

    How much Epsom salt?

I've looked around a bit on the internet and found some conflicting info.. also with with the measures since the measures are metric, US as well as Brit (imperial) measure... I've heard half a teaspoon per gallon (not sure us or imperial) I've heard 1/4 TBSP or tablespoon per gallon, I've heard...

How much Perlite is too much

Other than drying out issues and not retaining nutrients up to what ratio potting mix to Perlite is too much when potting up your pepper plants? I generally add 1 handful per every 2-3 handfulls of potting mix and it seems to be not too bad... I also tend to raise the ratio of it at the bottom...

How much Calcium (and what source) and how soon?

I'm kind of hesitant to start too much on the fertilizers as I have some 10-15-10 liquid I'll be using in 1/4 doses and very infrequently, but what would be a good calcium source to use without going overboard on other nutrients?... I'm not sure all USA brands are available up here in Canada...

Schultz's Insecticidal Soap crisping my plants!

Last week I thought I saw the beginnings of what I thought was spider mite on a couple of my peppers so I got some of this Schultz's Insecticidal Soap... to take care of them... It may have just been a drier plant and a few small flecks of dirt but it could have been spider mite even though I...

fertilizer Quistion on a liquid fertilizer

I have some of the Schultz's brand 10-15-10 Liquid fertilizer (with 0.1% iron, 0.05% manganese and 0.05% zinc) I use it with my other plants and were wondering if it would be appropriate to use on the peppers too... My peppers are mostly indoors and will be outside on my condo balcony in pots...

    Zokambaa's growlog.... of sorts...

I had a bunch of seeds I kept from the scotch bonnet and orange habanero peppers I bought over the winter... and a couple black naggas bought as well... and now I am just seeing how well they take off in my condo with just whatever sun they get from my south by south west windows and a regular...

Lookit what Mr. Courrier sent me yesterday..

Look what I received the other day.... I must admit I like Marie Sharps but Melinda's is OK... not quite as good a flavour and the seeds are bigger and harder... I never notice them in Marie Sharps products.. but I certainly go in Melindas...I got the Hatari Bro's Grandma Shiv's Red Hab...

hot-sauce 2ndary effects of hot sauce or peppers?

I guess this isn't the most appealing topic but I am wondering how many find they are adjusting in more than tolerance to the initial burn.. My first intro past Tabasco, frank's, and similar mild sauces was Marie Sharps hot and Firey hot sauces... while I quickly adjusted to the mouth burn...

hot-sauce Dave's Gourmet Insanity Sauce taste???

I've heard people often mention Dave's insanity sauce is a good one to go for as far as taste goes... While it is hot for me so far it wasn't all that bad in the mouth for me... I think raw habaneros burn my mouth more and for longer but my stomach instantly disliked it.... as did my taste...

pests when growing Habaneros/Scotch Bonet indoor, what bugs to watch for?

I was just wondering what bugs I would have to watch for... are some varieties of peppers more susceptible to one bug over another? I have a south/south-west facing top floor condo with a big bay window so I pretty much have sun all day and the place gets rather warm.

Calgary - "Some Like it Hot" (AKA Uncle Big's Firey Foods)

I was looking to get some Marie Sharp's hot sauces and either the places I found were insanely costly.. or down in the USA... however I came across Uncle Big's Firey Foods web site which is in Canada... and they have free shipping over $65 but local shipping is not too bad either for less than...
