Sorry.
I've been busy with work and will get it out soon. Thanks again for your help. Everyone has been great in helping out.
I can't wait for Spring! It's been so cold in the "D" lately...30 below windchill yesterday.
Flavor was...actually...meh...but it's the thought that counts! I don't normally eat jalapenos without putting them in something I cook/make. So, think of it as taking a bite of a fresh picked jalapeno, but with chocolate. Weird, but worth a try.
Update to this old topic:
We ARE GETTING MARRIED! I knew she was a keeper. She even hinted she might want to help planting the gardens this year!
So Happy!

I am looking for some nice varieties of Jalapeno and Cayenne seeds. I know...boring, right? Maybe there are some great varieties I haven't heard of?
I haven't been able to grow any good Jalapenos using store bought seeds/plants, and need some cayenne to make more powder.
I can send a SASBE...
I use the garage in all seasons here in Michigan. It may take longer, but no big deal, as it's a slow process anyways. It still makes me cough every once in awhile when I open the garage door! As a tip...don't crush dried pods in the garage with a mortar a pestle if the air is dry and...
Just dig up most of the backyard like I did...80 plants or so. Less grass to cut! I start indoors around February/March and have had great results. Freezer is still full from last year.
Have fun. friend.
I think I asked the question wrong. How long can peppers be left to sit out before their seeds are no longer good?
Can I get good seeds from a mushy pepper?
Thanks for the answers though, as they give good info as well.
I picked a bunch of ripe peppers recently, and set them out on the counter. After a few days, some are a bit mushy, as can be expected. Can I still get viable seeds to plant next year if the peppers themselves are not super fresh anymore? I mean like a week to ten days after they are picked...

Love all good rap and hip hop. It's my go to for music. Favorite groups: NWA, The Doors, Flogging Molly. I am a bit open to anything musically, but Rap is #1....grew up on it!
