Wow...I sure wouldn't guess those plants are only 3 weeks old. I need to get my stuff together and create a grow area for next season. The light coming through my window is not getting the job done.

I have been told it is not organic.

Too bad. I've decided that I want to grow my peppers organic. Any other good (organic) tips for speeding my growth? The rate your chilis are growing at is just astonishing!

Thanks BI..I don't know of anyother thing...some people use ground up multivitans but is that organic?...check post #8

I can't imagine vitamins are organic either. Maybe I'm just too impatient here. I just recently got the grow room with the CFLs up an running. That should help a bunch I guess :)

BioBizz is organic and like steroids for plants.

Thanks for that info, Omri :)
So basically, I need Bio-Grow for the early stages, and Bio-Bloom for flowering/fruiting? And it's ok to use, even if I grow in dirt?

Just keep growing your peppers, none of ours look like AJ's. He sets the pattern high to keep us trying.;)

Personally, I like the organic B vitamin supplements, especially the organic(green) thrive alive B1 which has no auxins, growth hormones or other unwanted chemicals and its derived from sea kelp

Just to make sure, since there are possible language issues here, 'organic' and 'natural' are not the same thing.

Organic generally means it has been made from products that occur naturally like seaweed, compost, manure, and/or fish and feather meal. It doesn't mean it hasn't been processed or manipulated.

Natural would mean using the compost, seaweed, or other soil amendments by putting them in the soil and letting them decompose.

hm, ok, brain not firing today. I need to work on these. Anyway, the hydro nutes these guys are pumping into their plants may be organic, but they all contain plant hormones, which means they're not natural.

There are lots of natural sourced organic fertilizers available for soil or hydro, but as I've mentioned before, the liquid ones don't seem to always have a long shelf life:(

If you want to complicate/pinpoint it further 'organic' means that a substance contains carbon if you speak about chemistry. So to a chemist rainwater isn't organic but gasoline is. Organic isn't always better for the plants;)

I was under the impression that you shouldn't use any fertilizers until the seedlings have four true leaves on them. Is this correct?

AJ when do you start with fertilizers?

Thanks.

Well, I wasn't trying to get pissy about it, just point out on this hydro nute mad group that organic is not necessarily natural.

when the soil in the seed starting trays is being soaked and brought up to temperature before planting seeds...

Well, I mean organic in a natural kind of way. No chemicals or hormones added. How is that for multi vitamins? Are they usually made of natural stuff, or are they chemically manufactured? Anything I should look for on the label for a hint about being natural or not?

I am trying to understand why you wouldn't give your plants vitamins or growth hormones to improve their growth habits if these items have been used over 60 years without any ill side effects.

Yes, I am asking for a discussion...
