Just thought i would see if anyone else likes to smoke a few nice sticks now and then.....this is another hobby I have.
I have been smoking cigars for years...really relaxing with a nice shot of your favorite spirit....mine being dark rum.
I smoke two a day on average.
 
My humidor was built by a friend of mine....cabinet maker...it is aprox 18 cubic feet.
Top is Birds Eye Maple ...trimmed with inlayed Ebony....sides are all Cherry and the inside walls and shelves are all lined with Spanish Cedar.

For humidification I use a Hydra XL but I think I may may a change soon.

As for cigars themselves Cubans are great and always been legal to buy here.....just way over priced and over taxed....which is why I like a lot of Dominican and Nicaraguin cigars.

This is why I buy most of my cigars in the states.....I have friends that are from N.C.and make the trip back and forth quite often.....and JR's cigars is a stone throw from them.....Canada's taxes on Alcohol and Tobacco are horrific.
 
we have idiotic taxes here too, every few years they propose more.

Yeah....that is a really nice humidor and collection of accessories you have. I have a 75 cigar capacity humidor and smoke mostly during the warmer months here.
 
Thanks for looking guys.....yes I don't get to enjoy a stick as often as I would like in the winter.....I don't smoke in my vehicle or house.......I will smoke in the cab of the dozer when at work.....I  usually don't work Jan and Feb ....work is seasonal......so I have to pick out the nice days as they come.....this winter has been easier.
 
i used to smoke shit loads of gars in this rented shit hole in flordia.
 
smokeing cigars inside... doing homework, cooking, shitting, its magical. i really encourage you to try it.
 
pipes are like dogs... they need love and attention to keep going. especially with a wetter blend like that fucking burly cavendish shit with glycol+whiskey+molasis. i cant stand that shit.
 
cigars are like cats though. set it on fire, and give it some attention now and then, whilst you go about your business.
 
back before SCHIP, there was this place in flordia... tampa humidor that sold oliva Vs for like 5.50+ tax, the V figurado was like 7 bucks,  and g cameroons for like 4 flat + tax. 

haha there was also this headshop that had a real nice humidor... sliding glass door leading to a wood paneled room.
 
flordia has some wierd law where headshops cannot make more than 50% of their money... or maby it was 50% of their floor space cannot be dedicated to bongs and shit... they had good prices too. 
 
they also had this insane porn rack. "mature" porno mags were just below eye level. my eyes were drawn to them each and every time i walked through that place.

Nice set up. I was big into cigars during the 90s. I bought by the case from JR and even got Cubans on trips to Vancouver. I fell out of it for a variety of reasons (health, kids, cost). Every now and then I try one again, but they just don't taste the same. It's like my taste buds changed. Cigars used that used to be so good now taste like harsh ash to me. Many seem to be poorly made and burn badly. Maybe age and hot peppers had altered my tongue. Plus, sticks that used to cost $1-3, are now $10-15. There are also too many new "fancy" brands that suck. I'm sure there are still a few good ones for decent $ out there.

I know exactly what you mean hottoddy.....things have changed greatly from what they were 25 years ago....so many guys trying to make a name with novelty branding ideas these days.......some good but most of them turn out bad and do not last....I will not buy Cubans here in Canada unless I am really desperate....my sister leaves for Cuba in a couple weeks but I will not buy because the exchange is a killer right now....and I do have a couple full boxes in my humi....so i am good....I am a big fan of Rocky Patel cigars....I really like most everything he puts out......and I also like Alec Bradley cigars....Drew Estates puts out some nice sticks like Liga Privada #9 and the Undercrown.....most of these sticks are in the $7- 14 range here....cheaper in the U.S.....
I spend a lot of time looking for bargains and waiting for friends and family doing vacations in tobacco countries...lol.
 
Yes, the hops are named after the river and the valley. Pronounced 'will am it'. Versatile hop but there are much better options for bittering and aroma. Great15 minute addition. Don't rely on it for a great beer. Obviously not my favorite, but there are grain bills that make it pop, I just haven't found it
