I grew mostly for heat last year.  This year though, I'm broadening my horizons thanks to The Field Guide to Peppers that my wife bought me as a gift.  I'm going to try covering the whole spectrum eventually.


How about you?
 
Nope. Didn't really have a season. I focused on family and taking over as new owners of our bar/restaurant.

Any big plans for next season or just business as usual?
 
I have a rinky dink little green house and am trying to overwinter a bunch. Not going from seed this year.



Ben, are ya gonna post more now?
 
He is due the 24th, but likely sooner. Remnar is a name I first heard of on the movie Escanaba In Da Moonlight. Hasn't been used in the USA in close to 200 years. It's a manly, Viking name. Tasha and my mother said no. So our son will be Shadow Remnar as a compromise.

Any new recipes?
 
No not really. I tend to just through things together that I think will work. Sometimes I nail it. Love the crock pot and mess with soups a lot. Gonna play a bit this weekend, maybe create a winner. Suppose I should write them down, but that just slows me down and I loose the creative juices.



Have you started working on the plane?
 
No plane yet. We bought the bar/restaurant before getting a house. Figured it makes more long term sense. The bar did come with three decent sized lots across the alley behind the bar. All hookups available. It's not exactly prime realestate, but we have secured the land for our home. We're hoping to get started on the house this spring. Due to this long term plan and having a new kiddo on the way, the plane build will be put off for a year or three. It's all good, though. This helps secure our future and now I don't have to work for anyone else.

What is your opinion on Indian food?
 
Spicey and generally really good. I've had good and bad. The best I ever had was in Japan. The place was called Tajmahal and was in Yokohama. Outstanding!!


I have Navybeans with ham, onion, and carrots in the crockpot. What's for dinner?
 
Yea, we have a 2 year old cat that is totally nuts. He bounces around our house like a child on sugar.



Did you buy the place you were a chef or a different place?

I have at least 2 years before I can leave California. Gotta let my son graduate Highschool first. I kinda would like to retire into a cooking job though. I'll give you a little time to grow your restuarant for now. Maybe team up with you in the future though.


Are ya gonna wow them with special wings today?
 
I'm just trying to get wings out tonight. Our fryer has two sides. The left was our good side and it went out the other day and our right fryer is barely hanging on. I have a bunch of wings in the oven that will be easy to keep warm and toss in the fryer for a minute or two.

Didn't you go to some form of culinary school?
