BEER!

This afternoon a very tasty brew from Epic Brewing Company here in SLC, UT. Imperial Red Ale, 7.8% ABV, 22oz. Bomber.

Pours a very nice dark reddish/amber color, nice carbonation, HUGE very thick/creamy two-finger plus head, with some very nice thick/creamy sticky lacing left behind. The nose is malty, with some hop notes, and caramel. The taste is sweet, malty, nice hop note, bitter, and lots of caramel. Medium body, the finish is dry and bitter. Very Drinkable, this is HANDS DOWN another awesome brew from Epic.

Cheers!

No review on the Petroleuse?

Orange and cloudy, medium carbonation and medium head (IIRC). Sweet, fruity, some herbal notes, but mostly just sweet. Great taste, but I craved something salty/dry afterwords due to the sweetness of it. Smelled very much like an Abbey ale, similar to Orval being fruity but almost "musty".

Pours a very nice cloudy dark golden orange color, nice carbonation, very nice two-finger thick/creamy off-white head, with some very nice thick/creamy sticky lacing left behind. The nose is malty, with a nice touch of yeast, slight touch of bananna/corinander, pepper. The taste is malty, slightly sweet, alittle bitter, yeasty, with a nice touch of spice. Medium body. Drinkable, another tasty brew from Brewer's Art.

Also finish off last night with a Deschutes Black Butte Porter.

Tonight having a Anchor Steam, it's been 2-3 years since I've had one, still a very tasty brew.

Cheers!

Been sitting on this one for 2.5 years.

Boulevard Brewing Co. Bourbon Barrel Quad (BBQ)

750ml Bottle
Caged/Corked
Bottle: 1520 or 10,630
ABV: 11.8%

Aged for 2.5 years.

Poured into a chalice a very nice cloudy amber color, very nice carbonation, very nice one-finger plus thick creamy off-white head, with some nice oil slicks and sticky lacing left behind. The nose is malty, with some nice bourbon notes, some nice dark fruits, slight spice. The taste is absolutely delicious, malty, slight yeast, cherries, figs, plums, bourbon, and some spice. Full body, the ABV is hidden very well. Very drinkable still. This one has aged very nicely.

Cheers!

Had a Rogue Mogul Madness I'd been holding back for a few months. Very hoppy for a winter-warmer style, more of an APA almost, but with toffee/malty notes to let you know it's a winter beer. Good, but different than I expected.

RedRock Brewing Company
Elephant DIPA

500ml Bottle

Pours a nice cloudy amber/orange color, nice carbonation, nice one-finger off-white creamy head, which quickly dissappears, leaving some sticky lacing behind. The nose is hoppy, with a slight malt note, some citrus, slight pine note. The taste is sweet, hoppy, nice little malt blend, citrusy, and some pine notes. Medium body, the finish is slighty dry/bitter. Drinkable, a pretty nice DIPA at only 8% ABV.
