ive got a sammichlaus from 1991 unopened

im scareded to drink it


Damn! That's a long time, at that point, I'm not sure if you should just let it keep going or open it! haha

I'm drinking some low life light tonight...though I have a couple decent porters in my fridge that I might open up after these are gone.

Anderson Valley Summer Solstice, an awesome brew for the summertime, kinda like a orange creamiscle. :beer:

A nice one today:

Deschutes Hop In The Dark
6.5% ABV

22oz. Bomber
Best After: 7/24/10

Pours a nice black color, nice carbonation, nice one-finger creamy light tan head, with some sticky lacing left behind. The nose is hoppy, with some malt notes, chocolate/toffee. The taste is hoppy, slightly bitter, nice malt blend, a good dose of chocolate/toffee upfront. Medium body. Very Drinkable, not a hop bomb, but it sure is tasty. Well done Deschutes. :beer:

Today a nice tasty brew:

Widmer Brothers Brewing Company
Cherry Oak Doppelbock (Brothers' Reserve Series)

22 oz. Bomber
Bottled: Sep 9, 2009
Almost a year old

Pours a nice brownish color, some carbonation, little fizzy off-white head, with some sticky lacing left behind. The nose is malty, with some nice cherry notes, and spices. The taste is sweet, malty, nice cherry note, slight tangyness, with some spice note. Medium body. Drinkable, this is a pretty tasty brew, glad to have gotten a chance to try it. :beer:

An awesome pair for me tonight:

First, Bell's Kalamazoo Stout, a "regular" stout, VERY smooth, tremendous head, tastes like an oatmeal stout, but it's not. Malty and mild, an excellent after dinner beer.

Next, a Bell's Expedition Stout, a Russian Imperial Stout. Not as smooth, alcohol is apparent in this one, but it's bold flavor is incredible. Not one to drink quickly, I sipped on this for about 35 minutes. Drink this one for the taste, drink the Kalamazoo if you'd like a drink with food, or don't want to feel full after :)
 
For dinner last night I had a Bell's Two-Hearted ale. A nice medium-strength IPA, very citrusy and a light finish. I don't get into double IPAs and the super hoppy imperial style IPAs, but this one was fantastic.
 
Tonight a very tasty brew:

The Bruery
2 Turtle Doves
Belgian Strong Dark Ale
12% ABV

750ml Bottle

Poured into a chalice a very nice dark brown color, nice carbonation, very nice one-finger plus tan head, with some nice thick/creamy sticky lacing left behind. The nose is malty, with some nice chocolate/toffee notes, vanilla, and some spices. The taste is very nice, malty, very nice touch of chocolate/toffee/cocoa, vanilla sweetness, and some spice notes. Full/Medium body, ABV hidden very well. Very Drinkable, this is a joy to drink, recommended. :beer:

Tonight a pretty tasty IPA.

Central City Brewing
Red Racer IPA
ABV: 6.5%

Pours a very nice clean/clear dark golden orange/copper color, very nice carbonation, with a very nice thick foamy off-white head, with some nice sticky lacing left behind. The nose is hoppy, with a nice little malt note, citrus, and some pine notes. The taste is very nice, hoppy, with a good malt blend, nice dose of citrus, and a touch of pine. Medium body. Very Drinkable, a pretty awesome IPA from a can. :beer:

I had another Bell's Excursion Stout last night. I could drink one a night for the rest of my life I think!
 
Tonight a tasty one from Harpoon Brewery

Harpoon Leviathan - Imperial Red Ale
ABV: 9.2%

Pours a nice hazy amber color, nice carbonation, very nice thick/creamy one-finger plus head, with some nice sticky lacing left behind. The nose is malty, with some hop notes, caramel, and some spice. The taste is slightly sweet on the lips, with some nice malt notes, some hop notes, slight citrus, caramel, and a spice note. Medium body. Drinkable, this one is pretty tasty, job well done Harpoon. :beer:
