First I laid out the bacon for a light coating of garlic powder

Then I violated the dogs.

Circle-H Traitor-Dogs!

Oh!...You want a hot dog influenced on where you live???......Okay, fine....Here it is.

This has nothing to do with Kentucky. This isn't based on anywhere I've lived, been, hope to go, or even about winning (Charlie Sheen?). This has to do with where I am in my own head. This has to do with my attitude.....my personality.....this is about ME.

My fellow throwdown artists.......BRUNCH IS SERVED:

The Elsternwick spicy saucy Dog

Elsternwick is the home of perhaps the best-known brothel in Australia, and certainly Melbourne, the Daily Planet, which was the first in the world to be listed on a stock exchange.

I chose this Hot Dog to celebrate this most famous icon in my area the daily planet, which has made a small fortune providing a service for the local hound dogs. I chose the flavour of the dog because the first day I moved to the area I walked past the venue with my mate Colin and a South African woman on the door called out to us "hey Boerewors boys you want a lekke time just now". Had no idea at the time what she was on about but the story is now a regular at BBQ's.

500g minced beef
3 tbls tomato paste
1 jar tomato passata
500ml beef stock
1 onion, diced
2 gloves garlic
1 carrot, diced
1 stick celery, diced
1 teasp cumin - ground
1 teasp oregano
1 habanero
Boerewors
bread rolls
Grated cheese
1 teasp tshc naga powder

saute onion, carrot, celery and garlic in olive oil until soft. add beef and brown. add cumin, chilli, oregano, tomato paste, tomato passata, naga powder and stock. bring to the boil then simmer for 2 hours. season to taste.

fry sausage. put sausage in rolls, top with chilli sauce and grated cheese.

Sorry about the lack of photos I really burnt my hand while preparing and spent more time cursing than thinking about taking pictures.

Paul...9th one from the right on your port side is not properly front-faced in line with the rest.

Mean grubbage, too...;)

Damn, there is some Hot Dog Awesomeness going on in here.

I'm from Kansas, but originally from New Mexico. So, to pay homage to my hometown state, the NEW MEXICO CHILE RELLANO DOG!

Simple ingredients:
Ingredients.jpg

Nathan's Famous Hot Dogs
Roma Bakery brat buns
Pepper Jack Sharp Cheddar Cheeses
Hatch Green Chile (in the freezer since 2004 - and since SUMbody did not believe I was using frozen green chile last TD, I included the ziplock in this picture)
AP flour
Beer (not pictured)
Eggs (not pictured)
Spicy Chicken's Habanero Powder (thanks SC!)

The method:
Peel and seed the chiles
Place hot dog and cheese and sprinkle with Spicy Chicken's habanero powder
BeforeTheRoll.jpg

Roll, secure with toothpics and into the freezer for a spell
Meanwhile, make a beer batter and fold in some egg whites beat to a stiff peak
Flour the chile, then dip into the batter. Place immediately into the fryer (and here's a tip - make sure your fryer is long enough for your chile!)
IntoTheFryer.jpg

Throw together a sauce with some chopped up left over Hatch chile and a few chipotles in adobo and enjoy!
ReadyToEat.jpg

And here is proof there is actually a hot dog in there. Cheesy, chile hot dog goodness!

Spicy Chicken, that habanero powder is hot!
