I've had beers get skunked before when I'm ourside grilling, or working in the garden or something, and forget about the brew for a while.
That's pretty rare, because I usually drink a beer in 10-15 minutes, so it never really has a chance to skunk.
I always keep my hoppy homebrews away from light, especially sunlight in the fermenter, to avoid any potential skunking.
