My dad used to give me sips of his beers when I was a kid, like 10 years old or so. I never really liked it at the time. He drank mainly Budweiser and whatnot, since there wasn't anything crafty available on the store shelf in New Mexico in the early 90s. I'm sure he would have preferred an IPA over a Bud, if it were available back then. Now Las Cruces has 4 pretty quality micro breweries. It's a shame he passed away, because I know he would enjoy drinking some quality hand crafted ales.
I remember being little kid and not being able to see over the top of the counter but could easily reach stuff on top of it. One night I was drinking a soda and put it on the countertop. A few minutes later I I went to take another drink but not being able to see what was up there I accidentally grabbed my grandfather's o'douls. Yuck.
Sipping some.fine brews right now. Good fire brewing prime and astro. Astro is a sour raspberry wheat ale and is delicious.
