beer Being Crafty

Third try to post this eve..

Had celebratory meal after a successful sales event Saturday. Went to a place owned and operated by a British transplant called The Codfather. The owner is a nice guy with accent so thick I can barely understand. But, he has taken a dream from humble beginnings to create a very "hot" local eatery. I haven't been to the UK, but others who have, claim it is the most authentic British offering of "fish and chips" on American soil. I've had the "full" meal before (more than I could eat) so pictured here is the 1/2 meal (still more than I could eat.) He has done well here and I give full props and accolades. Fish and chips with curry sauce, most excellent!  Had a Sungazer IPA from a local brewery that I'd not yet known about (crisp/clean very good) and finished the meal with an ESB produced locally and is exclusive to the restaurant (forgot to take pic)

This one was seriously tasty! The white wine barrel aging really kicks this one up a notch.

:Aged for three months in white wine barrels, our beloved Golden Monkey matures in an even more decadent direction. Distinct notes of vanilla and woody tannis from American oak blend beautifully with the fruit and spice characters of this Belgian-Style Tripel."

This one was the ( . Y . )

"Weve jam-packed Daylight Cravings with all the sweet and savory flavors of a hearty country breakfast. Smoked malt and a drizzle of rich maple syrup impart the essence of your favorite cured meats, and as with any good morning meal, weve rounded off this beer with rich cold brewed coffee. A delectable pour as suitable to start a day as it is to end one."

I needed a thirst quenching brew to keep me hydrated while I prepped the garden for plant out this afternoon. Squash, carrots, eggplant, beets, tomatoes, corn, herbs, onions, and of course peppers are locked and loaded in the garden.
nice selection on liquid hydration :metal:  and nice selection of veggies for the garden but no cukes?

No cukes this year, or winter squash

I've been hit hard every year with squash bugs and vine borers, which go after my cuke and squash vines. I grow only organically, so pesticide/systemic pesticide is out of the question. I always end up getting plenty of cukes/squash anyway before the bugs attack, but I'm taking a year off of seeing hordes of them all over my beds.

I'm growing 2 varieties of early summer squash in 10 gallon pots, to keep them out of my usual squash/cuke beds. I know these summer squash will inevitably get hit with borers and squash bugs anyway, so by that point I will have harvested enough squash in the early Summer, to make me tired of eating squash. I'll then pull the plants, and plant okra plants in the same pots, which absolutely love the full Summer heat here.

My daughter was born today, healthy and happy

I hit this pizza and brew on the way home from the hospital, and I find it fitting, considering her birth date today.

"G13 IPA is a strange new strain, indeed. We took the dank hop profile youd expect from a hazy IPA, and married it with terpenes and natural hemp flavors. The result is a big yet balanced IPA that mimics the aroma and taste of a heady, green G13. G13 IPA is a sticky super-hybrid thats ready to rip.

Pungent and dank aromatics on this terpene infused IPA fill the room once the beer is opened. We went with an aggressive dry hop schedule which interlaces nicely with the unique flavors to bring forward citrus and earthy notes followed by a resinous finish. This ones fire!

Columbus and Simcoe in the boil and dry hop!"

The brew is actually pretty friggin bomb, and it's not just the total lack of slepp for two days that is talking, either.
