Bodeen's 2013 Grow _-_ Love at First Sting

Not actually starting this yet. Just trying to get my thoughts together on what and how many I will be planting of everything. There is the possibility that there will be no cows here next year and the pastures will be made into corn fields. This would mean the barn lot will be free and empty. It grows some of the best grass on the farm and the barn does have a well and a pump already there. Could it be garden number 3??? Also contemplating enlarging the back garden again.

Nice harvest for so early in the season. I haven't grown the Chocolate Cayenne before, that's cool that it packs the Southern heat. When you cut the chili open is it green or red tinged, or chocolate throughout the flesh ?

I think they have a more mellow or perhaps smoky kind of flavor to them.  Hopefully these will continue to grow true on down the line.  Where I go from there I don't know.
 
Got my first perfume peppers today. Unless they are suppose go turn red.

After taste testing, I like these peppers.  No heat, but an odd flavor.  Not citrus, not smoky, but I think dried and powdered it would really compliment seafood and chicken dishes.
 
Hope my two plants kick out enough to give me some powder to try.
 
I watched a review on these a while back and the reviewer stated there were a ton of seeds in them.  I did not find that to be the case in mine.
 
Something is wrong with my pickles. Lower leaves turning brown and some of the upper leaves getting brown spots. Might be a disease or the wet weather. Will have to check into it when I get the internet back.

Ouch! Do you have Striped or Spotted Cucumber Beetles or Squash Bugs on your plants? They infect the plant with a bacterial wilt that sounds like what you describe. What's worse... infected plants call more Cucumber Beetles and they accelerate the spread of the disease.   http://www.highmowingseeds.com/blog/organic-control-measures-for-striped-cucumber-beetles/
 
Today's Harvest.  I think the Black and White Scorpion tongues are not true.  They turn creamy/purple colors and they don't look right.
 
Back row is a cherry bomb and two big bombs,  Cherry has a point???  Two Jimmys and a Dulce Rojo
 
Then a red and orange Habanero

To the right of the Dulce is a mini bell.  That Rojo is quite sweet.  Almost like eating candy.  Love it.  Thanks for sending the seeds Bonnie.

And two fresh pepper omelets.  Paper Lantern on left, Red Savina on Right.  Made my eyes sweat but the heat didn't hang around long at all.  Initial heat was back of the throat, but that soon changed to just my gums.

If the weather don't return to normal, I am looking at a bad pepper year with all this rain...not really a bad year, but yields will be lower than last year for sure.
 
Y'know, looking at the inside of those "Chocolate Cayennes"... I wonder if they crossed with your Pasillas last season, 'cause that's what they remind me of.

They have none of the flavor of the Bajio, and the color isn't quite right either.  Takes a Bajio a long time to turn from that shiny dark green to a dark brown.  
 
The seeds I planted last year I saved from 2011 and I didn't grow any Bajio in 2011.  That would mean the Bajio would have had to pollinated every blossom on my Cayenne in 2012.
