BREAKFAST!!!

I was looking for a breakfast thread and never found one that seemed open-ended enough to post on. So here y'all go!

Posty up your breakfast if you like, even if it's cold leftover pizza.

No time for words? No problem. Show us your awesome yellowish cell phone camera pic. No obligation to write out a recipe here if you don't want to.

Forgot to take a picture until halfway through the meal? Perfect! Selfie photo-op.

Whoops! You made brunch instead? That's cool... it counts.

I'll go first with a take on a Cuban breakfast called Huevos Habaneros. It means Havana Eggs, but it's not made with Habaneros. In fact, it's not traditionally spicy hot. (Cuban meals typically aren't.) So, I had to SoFlo it up a bit and call it something different.

These are eggs baked over sofrito with butter on top in a custard cup for about 12 minutes at 375 F (yolks are still a bit runny). Then topped with more sofrito and garnished with some cayenne powder, but sofrito isn't spicy hot either. So...

Sofrito Caliente

(Enough for one serving)

1/4 cup chopped onion
1 Fresno pepper (cored and chopped)
1 green jalapeno (cored and chopped)
1 clove garlic, minced
1/4 tsp ground cumin
1/4 cup peeled, cored, chopped tomato
olive oil for sauteing

Saute the onion and peppers till the onion is translucent. Then add the garlic and cumin for a minute more. Then toss in the tomato for another minute or two. Salt and black pepper to taste.

Do it up y'all!

Let's see what breaks your fast.

No foo-foo here.....

I felt like breakfast for dinner tonight. I made CANNED biscuits.........Wright ends and pieces bacon (which is the best stuff on earth) and bacon gravy....

....yeah.....BACON GRAVY. All you people can keep that sausage gravy crap! There's no corner of my world where that trumps this! (by the way.....country gravy doesn't have meat in it.....unless it found it's way in there by mistake!)

Next time....I'll showcase my biscuit-making prowess!

What's up guys!

I haven't been around in a bit, and also I don't think I've contributed even once to this thread. So me and the girl had planned a big breakfast, might as well take some pics. I learned that cookin sober is awkward. Big ass breakfast burrito

Another lesson learned, don't get cheap when it comes to buying canned meat

I'd like to dedicate this meal to Sicman. LOOK AT WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN IN YOUR BELLY

:mope:

Its a double whammy because my kitchen has 3  woman in it doing lots of hen pecking.

Dang it! My belly really could have used that.

I've never tried making a breakfast burrito. The ingredients never seem to make it that far!

I am going to have to take a stab at this soon!

That looks really good.

I've gone to your site a couple of times now, too, so your design is working well ...

I don't use much hot sauce, personally (and I could say "None" until JHP sent me his sauce last week (and I ate it all in 2 days)) ...

Y U NO RUBS?

I say it to all the hot sauce people ... just ask LD ;)

Hey Grant, thanks for the order.  It was too late to get out today but it will mail on Monday.

Are you saying you could not register for an account?  Rubs will come w/ time.  As you can see, I like dried and fresh peppers w/ my meal as much as hot sauce.  Also, I didn't know JHP had hot sauce.  Is JHP getting in the game?
