I like the way you operate...
36 Brain Strains, 56 Butch T's...On top of what you've got growing already...
Thats gonna be one heck of a pepper patch!

And a few of those cups have more than one seed in them, just b/c I didn't want to get up and prep more cups (I had already been up for more than 23 hours).

A quote from NOAA

"
TRIPLE DIGIT TEMPERATURES EXPECTED LATE THIS WEEK WILL BE NEAR THE RECORD. THE HIGH AT NASHVILLE ON THURSDAY IS EXPECTED TO BE 100 DEGREES WHICH IS JUST 4 DEGREES SHORT OF THE RECORD OF 104 DEGREES SET BACK IN 1952. THIS WILL BE THE FIRST TRIPLE DIGIT HEAT IN NASHVILLE SINCE AUGUST 3RD OF LAST YEAR WHEN THE TEMPERATURE HIT 102 DEGREES. FRIDAY AND SATURDAY A HIGH OF 102 DEGREES IS FORECAST WHICH WILL BE NEAR THE RECORD HIGH OF 103 DEGREES ON FRIDAY SET BACK IN 1952...HOWEVER THE RECORD HIGH FOR SATURDAY JUNE 30TH IS 106 DEGREES SET ALSO IN 1952. THE 106 DEGREES ON JUNE 30TH 1952 IS THE HOTTEST TEMPERATURE EVER RECORDED IN THE MONTH OF JUNE. TRIPLE DIGIT HEAT WILL CONTINUE ON SUNDAY JULY 1ST BUT BACK OFF A LITTLE FROM TRIPLE DIGITS MONDAY AND TUESDAY."

No wonder I have had to water every day, but it still doesn't seem to help much.

5 gallon bucket experiment. Old Pillowcase that was to be thrown out, plus lots of holes in the bucket, courtesy of Black and Decker. Just potted this up ~2 hrs ago.

Butch T in bucket.

Love reading up on your glog...looks like we are both first timers...born in December...with a toddler/preschooler combo. I stated most of mine over the new years holiday. I'm harvesting fruit off those currently...they are in the ground. I started more over spring break...they are starting to set pods.

Looking good...and I can't wait to see pod-porn when the time comes!

Make that Three December babies first time grow

Congrats on the first (of many) Butch sprouts.
Nice work on the 5 gallon bucket.
I have 11 peppers in buckets, I just wish i drilled as many holes as you did. Next potup I'll add more.
The pillowcase is a twist... Did you do this to prevent dirt from falling out?

I had been reading about fabric pots and air pruning, also about how much harder it is to over-water with the fabric pots, thought about making my own, then just had the idea to use a bucket for rigidity, put holes in the bucket and putting an old pillowcase in it.

Oh, and I forgot to mention, the roots looked really good on the Butch T that I potted up. I need to do the same with the rest of them that are that big.

When did the butch in the bucket sprout? Just wondering cuz my oldest butch is about the same size.
So are you still planning on everything going into the ground?

Typing this on my phone, not really sure on how to use the mobile version. The butch T sprouted on May 25. Erm, I might put a few out, but most will probably stay inside. That may just be the recent heat wave talking, though.

I am definitely wanting to put most of them out next season, hoping to have a jumpstart (like to think I am super early, rather than super late).

That's a tall compliment to have someone like sic following a backyard glog!

I have enjoyed perusing the culinary contributions of sic for some time.
