CMPMAN1974 Growing Thread - 2009

Target has them for 59.00 got a couple of them on sale for 49.00 a few weeks back the ones I bought at Lowes were 79.00 2 yrs ago, now they are 89.00. same ones as Target. I think I still have a rain check for two from Target.

Haven't visited the forums much lately due to some personal issues, but my plants are going great. I'm thrilled.

Best year ever actually when it comes to timing, health of plants, and success growing every variety I sowed. I turned ones around from the dead due to aphid damage into some nice plants with the help of the ladybugs.

Tons of cool stuff this year. I'm excited about getting them outside in a month or so. The C. Pubescens are really thriving and some are in 6" round pots flowering like mad. Many I had super low quantities (even 1 seed) and was able to germinate these. That usually doesn't happen.

Should be an interesting year if I can get the energy to take care of them all. lol.

I learned some valuable lessons this year about not rushing the season as I did before. This is a MUCH better strategy.

I'll be spreading plants around to friends and family too from the looks of it. I was a bit overzealous planting 50+ tomatoes, 18 eggplants, 300+ peppers, and now 20 varieties of melons. lol. Maybe I'll try selling a few even. Who knows. I'm most exicted about some tomato plants that will be coming in the mail soon...the gold mine. I hope they arrive.

Hi Chris, good to hear from you! Sorry to hear about your personal issues, hope everything works out for you.

You sound very stoked about your plants, glad to hear that. Best wishes to you man, hope you have a record year.:)

Very happy to hear you won the battle on the aphids!
I'm thinking the govt. needs to start passing out some land grants to us overzealous growers!
I'm thinking you just need a bit more tropical flava...
package will be mailed Monday
Keep up the good work!

Ditto here. ;)

Last pictures until they go outside in a month. :)

Note, many of these are in 2.5" x 2.5" x 3.375" square pots. Don't need giant pots if you time things right and grow under right conditions. Save $$$ on lighting, soil, etc. by playing it smart. These are the same size CCN and TheChileWoman use in their mail order business. They are PERFECT for pepper seedlings!!!

AJ, can you find an aphid now? lol.

They all look so healthy and happy.

Kind of depressing knowing we're not going to see any more pics for an entire month. We'll be here if you change your mind.:)

Thanks Josh. I believe Red Rubin. There was one other red/purple basil I grew. I'll have to look up the name. I have like 10 red varieties of basil. lol. :)
