Nice,  hey ditch the Shiner and Brooklyn add Spaten and Hacker-Pschorr and you have a win.  Otherwise carry on!

Tried this last night.  Wasn't sure what to expect but it reminded me of a belgian beer, not that I know much about belgian beer styles but it was a little fruity/spicy yet also had a mildly bitter finish.

And oh, the yeast used came from the brewmasters beard hence the name.

tried a locally made porter from Hershey Pa

Troegs DEAD RECKONING didn't like it much, it was too thin for a porter and lacked character it was not very malty like i look for in stouts and porters

im glad i bought only one bottle

thanks your friend Joe

Had this last night.  Opened early but I couldn't wait any longer.  It was damn tasty but sadly I think my beer days are drawing to the end :mope: :mope:

SAY WHAT!!!!!   OHHH THE HORROR!    SAY WHAT!!!!

Meh.  Personal situation has arisen.  Wife is moving out "for a while" so my bills are effectively doubling and hard to budget in a bunch of craft beer in the near future.   Ironic since now I want beer more than ever but sometimes reality bites like that.

And no, it's not beer causing the problem.

Soon I'll probably be starting a 40oz & cheap whiskey thread but for now in case anyone here still drinks craft beer here's a couple I've tried in the last few days.  This one was pretty tasty.  Not as hoppy as I was expecting but that's not a bad thing in my book.

This one was pretty good.  It's new around these parts.  Wife loves lagunitas, I'm a little less impressed with them (except for the Sucks beer) but this was a tasty pale ale for sure.

And this one was just... nothing special at all.  Easily forgotten and I also tried their IPA and it was pretty awful really.  Can't recommend anything from Alaskan at this time.

I'm also sipping on a Stone Russian Imperial Stout with Espresso right now and since I've already posted about it no pic but it's a damn tasty stout for sure.

Tried this last night.  Not even sure why I picked it up.  Not bad but didn't love it although it's no secret scotch ales aren't for me.

Had this tonight.  Pretty tasty stuff really.  Pours like motor oil.  Wife was alarmed at the sight of it.  Dark mocha head.  Chocolate is mostly what we both got from it.  Definitely a pretty decent stout.

I was able to try a bunch of new ones for me last Thursday at a vendor event.  Probably too many :)  My friend and I made sure we ordered different beers each time so the list is pretty long.

Tis the season for pumpkin and octoberfest beers, so I had to try a few of them.

Size 7 IPA by Steel Toe Brewing - A very nice American IPA.  I didn't realize this was a local brewery so I will need to see what their other offerings are.
Milk Stout Nitro by Left Hand Brewing - One of the better stouts out there.  I thought this was the first time for me but Untappd reminded me of my previous consumption.
Sculpin IPA by Ballast Point - Saw a bunch of other people rave about this one so I drank one down.  Another great American IPA.  If I had this in the liquor store it would be in the regular rotation.
Woodchuck Hard Cider Private Reserve Pumpkin - A decent pumpkin cider, nothing to write home about.
Stone 17th Anniversary Gotterdammerung IPA - A very good double IPA with some unique flavors.  If it was a regular offering I would add it to my all time favorites list.
Dragon's Milk by New Holland Brewing - A very nice imperial stout.  Too many of these would kick my butt, not to mention fill me up.
Young's Double Chocolate Stout by Wells and Young's Brewing - Decent stout, not extraordinary.
Great Pumpkin Imperial Stout by Millstream Brewing - Made me want to go make a pumpkin pie.  Pretty good mix of flavors.
Hopulent IPA by Epic Brewing Co. - I liked the two previous American IPAs better, but it wasn't bad.
Pumking by Southern Tier Brewing - Truly the king of pumpkin beers.  Still only 4 stars as I think the pumpkin flavor would get old if you had too many.

So who else uses Untappd?  I have found it indespensible in remembering what I like and don't like.  There are some real stinkers out there that I almost picked up a second time.

left hand milk stout is delicious

try Lost Coast 8 ball stout if you want sometyhing similar yet equally tasty
