craft beer

Would love to try Smuttynose but it's one of 298734 beers not sold here.

Wife picked up these tonight.  Growler's full of "Walt's White Lie IPA" and "Heisenberg's Dark IPA".  These are a tribute to the main character in Breaking Bad, which is filmed here.  They're made by Marble Brewery which makes some pretty tasty brews and these are no exception.

"Walt's White Lie":

And the Heisenberg Dark:

Both are pretty good but I think I like the White IPA more which is weird since I prefer stouts and porters in general.  The White is a little stronger (7.5% vs 6.5% for the dark) but somehow more refreshing.  Both are brewed with galaxy hops afaik.  The dark obviously has more roasted malt flavor and both have a pretty bitter finish like chewing on an orange peel.

sorry to hear that but im sure there are many that are a match and im sure you already had one like it, but if you ever get a chance definitely try it
the white ale looks good!! ;)
thanks your friend Joe

We are now getting a lot of Sweetwater beers here in the local grocery stores, Sweetwater IPA has pretty great hop flavor Pine and citrus fruit with peaches. I may rank this one up in the everyday top 10 for IPA drinkability.

Smuttynose really did nothing for me. Of course I had it the same day as a Bells Two hearted, so that may be why. The Hop flavor was one dimensional, and had none of the interesting hidden fruit flavors or aromas that I enjoy most in an IPA. I remember thinking the aroma was actually nasty,

Also wanted to add that I finally had a Lagunitas Wilco Tango Foxtrot, and realized that I Do Not like strong brown ales. It is the only Lagunitas beer that I have not liked. I actually poured haf of the bomber out, I disliked it that much.

So the wife picked up the Breaking Bad IPA's on a whim.  Turns out a lot of other people had that whim too, as they sold 12,000 pints of it in 7 hours.  Had no idea it had garnered national attention but lots of internet sites including the "big" ones covered it.  Guess they're brewing more.  It was good beer for sure but no doubt they would have sold about 20 pints in 7 hours without the Breaking Bad affiliation.

EDIT#2: Article said 12,000 pints, but in reality they sold 1,200 pints in the first 7 hours on release day.  Big difference but still pretty impressive since it's not bottled, only on tap.

Anyone on the west coast want to do a beer trade? I am looking for some Heretic Brewing co beers. I'll trade some local brews like Cigar City, or anything else that is desired!

love those beer mats!

Tried this last night.  An IPA made with pilsner malts and "non traditional" hops.  Not bad if you like hop bombs:

And I might have posted this before but if you like chocolate these are pretty good.  Thanks to the nitro charge in the can they are smooth and creamy:

as Homer Simpson would say "MMMMM STOUT"!!

this ones on my list gotta get me some!!

thanks your friend Joe

Joe be warned it's very light for a stout.  You get smooth creamy chocolate and not much else.  In a blind taste test I could see people being unable to identify it as beer.  I like it every now and then as it's relatively affordable compared to other chocolate stouts ($10 for a 4 pack of tallboys).  I've seen it in single bottles as well but not where I live.

Tried this last night.  Another good beer from Marble.  Kind of reminded me a bit of Stone's Enjoy By IPA, crisp and refreshing with a dry bitter finish.

im kicking back with a  SMUTTYNOSE ROBUST PORT, i decided to pick up a case this time which is something i seldom do,im going on vacation in about a month from now and im planning on taking a few of these with me

if you guys and gal like porter try this one, it defiantly lives up to the "ROBUST" part but doesn't have the high alcohol content of other stouts and porters in this genre and the same wonderful taste too, no sacrificing anything
strong roasted barley malt flavor

not too heavy

thanks your friend Joe
Nice .  You should hide a few in the Christmas decorations and luckily find them come December.

Went to Colorado over the weekend and rounded up a few new beers.  If you're ever in Durango I can't argue against Steamworks Brewery.  In the foreground is my Backslide Stout served on a nitro tap, and in the background is my wife's Lizard Head Red.  Both were pretty tasty.  We also tried their habanero beer and it was probably the best chile beer I've ever had.  They also can their Third Eye IPA and it's pretty good too.

Here's another.  Not really remarkable for me but totally drinkable.

A couple more. No glass shots because we were camping and drank from the can.  The Avery IPA was pretty damn good.

I had a very interesting beer the other day. Saint Somewhere "Serge" Farmhouse Ale.

This was an "Interesting" beer, but probably not one I would buy again. It tasted much like one of my old homebrews, which weren't that wonderful. The exposure to wild yeasts did not impart the same great flavors of the Trappist ales as I remember them.  It is a worthy experiment, and worth a try if you like the sour flavors of wild yeast in your ale.
