craft beer

Awesome beer.  Their double IPA is also worth grabbing.

Youngs DC is a favourite of mine.  We don't seem to get many of the anderson valleys here, except by grey import.  I haven't had a bad beer made by them, would love to try it.

Saison Dupont is the best version of its style.  Lucky bastard!

My first beer not-from-kit is going to be in that vein ... I ordered a 3 gal glass carboy, 2.5 gal keg, the grain bill (floor-malted pilsner and acidulated malt) and hops (fuggle (US), columbus, and saaz (czeck) last night, actually ...

I also ordered some back-up yeasties (WLP565, I think), as the Wyeast 3724 is well-known to halt fermentation or flocc out or something ... many instances of people pitching more yeast ...

Kind of excited ...
Oh, and a quick pitstop before I open an S. Dupont ...

Been going over my BIAB info w/ your countrymen over at BIABrewer.info or whatever ...

Used BIABacus last night for the 1st time ...

Was giving me fits for days and days, and then I realized it was not me - it was shitty .XLS integration ...

Switched to LibreOffice and it's working now ...

I also ordered duplicate boxes of my remaining kit beers, so that I can do them as 2 gal batches to optimize a bit more for my time/effort ... and to help fill in in gallons from what I'm likely not getting from 2/3 of my initial gal batches ...

Fun, fun ...

I use beer smith 2, it has biab functionality and can be designed to your equipment profile.  Makes it a breeze with a friendly interface.  Doubling down is good.  More beer is good beer. Off to work!

Epic. And insane.  I hope they are paying you well!

I haven't had that one yet, myself ...

I haven't found the golden path to enjoying IPA's yet ...

So far, anyways, not a fan of hop-forward beers ...

We'll see if I evolve to appreciate it over time ... I've been wondering about that, myself ...

Yeah overall, I'm not over the moon for IPA's yet either. There are a few I have enjoyed, but I'm usually not expecting to like them when I taste one. Although the low expectations make me easier to please when it's good.

Love ipa's have for a long time. have tried lots. There are some that i cant stand. What I realy like is a fine white ipa.

old elephant foot is gone, time for icehouse. talk about a change up

60's right now. 70's-80's coming next 2 weeks. Bugs aren't too bad yet. I'm gonna spray for mosquitos pretty soon though because it's all trees with a creek around us. They will eat you up if you don't spray. I tempted to buy a fogger.

Funny IPA's are the beers I keep coming back to, I love a big whack of hops and alcohol and malt.  I go through stages of other beers, but try and always have an IPA in a keg.

Simcoe is delicious, but my favourite is amarillo when you can find a good fresh batch.  Would love to grow some amarillo rhizomes  but it is still patented and licensed and guarded with AK's and pit bulls and dragons and stuff last I heard.

I love IPAs and Double IPAs with simcoe hops.  Those are my favs.

I am new to saison, the dupont was my 2nd ever ...

How is it? ...

It's a style (along w/ biere de garde) that I might have to learn to like, because the ferm temp's for the yeasties play nice w/ my climate ...

I can't refrigerate as much beer as I want to brew, or even close to it ...

Pretty good.  I would buy it again.  Keep in mind I am not very picky…as long as it doesn't taste bad to me.   I want to go back and pick up some more to sample.  Definitely going to try one of those Rogue chocolate stouts this time.
