D3's 2016 Growlog

Well 2016 is already fast approaching and it's time to start thinking about what to grow this coming year. Last year I started seeds in mid Dec and was running out of room for plants by the time plant out finally came. I think this year I will start the majority in January.

I was going through my seeds to send to a few and figured it was time to start formulating a list of what I want to grow.
There was a lot that I grew 2015 that while ok, I didn't see myself growing again and a few that definitaly made the grow list again. a few off the top my head being paper lantern, baha goats and moa bonnets. Just the right heat levels and great as smoked powders.

Here is my non official ever changing list. (so much for having a smaller grow this year...) Edited 1-6 to reflect actual current list.

So much love juice in the OF I still haven't used any nutes. I do a mix 1 bag OF to half a bag of the loose promix HP. So almost 50/50. Greenhouse looks nice man, curious to see how hot yours gets when summer hits. Cheers

I'm curious too, I need to get the auto louver for one the windows. I got a wireless temp sensor in there. With one the windows propped open a few inches it got down to 56 so I had the wife close it. Supposed to be around 80 friday and I'm off work so shall see.

As for nutes most my plants are in the cheapest promix avail ($13 a bale at menards) I watered with nutes a few to many times I can see visible salts build up. I may give them a flush when I wake up later.

Well shit, it was 115f when I woke up....

Was cooking dinner before I had to go into work. It was 4:30 I leave at 5:10

My wife walked in the door with a sfrb of pepper plugs from Jim duffy at refining fire chilies. I just ordered them a day or two ago. While I normally appreciate prompt shipping I was rather frazzled as no shipping confirmation was ever sent and I really didn't have the time to pot them up right then. I did manage to frantically bounce back and forth between tacos, potting and scarf my food down before rushing out the door.

Sorry no pics I didn't have time.

I ordered the aji plant special which came with two of each Aji pineapple, aji chauchapata (spelling), aji amarillo and aji panca for $25 shipped.

when placing them in the green house there was a baby robin inside flopping around. Had to chase it out and close the door.

Green house cooled down to 86 eventually by the time I had to leave but it probably climbed back up soon as I closed the door.

Will be about $45 with 25% off coupon at harbor freight for two of the auto opening louvers but I believe they are a necessity at this point. It was only 65f out today and the green house was 116f.

After a good drink of water most the plants where already perking up. I will seriously consider running the drip lines in there for any plants that do stay.

interested to see what your temps look like in the fall/winter/early spring
suppose to hit low 80's here today.

I figured out what happened to the plants leaves. I had used a spray to try and treat the bls on some of them. It burned them up. Hopefully everyone bounces back

I'm liking the green house! Good job on the shelves and actual construction. I would love one here, but the ambient temps are too crazy. I would need a swamp cooler and fans and to pay attention...lol forget that....

You are so correct with the sun shade needs. I see you have already seen how hot things can get, even though you're up North. ;)

Please be careful during this first year of learning AND enjoy! That;s what it's all about!

I stopped by Johanson farms for my wifes yearly Flower basket. Picked this one up for $36

Was half tempted to pick this one up but we already did that color pattern in the past

I also picked up 6 pablano plants, 1 jalapeno, 1 cayenne , 1 sun gold and 1 roma tomatoes. Flat of marigolds for bugs and a bag of FF ocean forest 3 #2 pots.

It's been decent weather minus some rain and i'm more than ready to plant out but once again weather doesn't permit it. This Saturdays low is 36... not sure I should chance it. All next week are thunderstorms as well. At this rate it will be June by the time I get to plant out. I did pot up a couple of the plants that I plan to either keep in the greenhouse all summer or overwinter. Still a few more to go but started raining.

Papa Dreadie scotch bonnet I potted up last week is doing good. I'll isolate and overwinter this one.

I also removed the top shelf on the right side of greenhouse Iike I was talking about to make room for larger plants.
