D3's 2016 Growlog

Well 2016 is already fast approaching and it's time to start thinking about what to grow this coming year. Last year I started seeds in mid Dec and was running out of room for plants by the time plant out finally came. I think this year I will start the majority in January.

I was going through my seeds to send to a few and figured it was time to start formulating a list of what I want to grow.
There was a lot that I grew 2015 that while ok, I didn't see myself growing again and a few that definitaly made the grow list again. a few off the top my head being paper lantern, baha goats and moa bonnets. Just the right heat levels and great as smoked powders.

Here is my non official ever changing list. (so much for having a smaller grow this year...) Edited 1-6 to reflect actual current list.

that's what I was thinking, i'm also considering maybe building up the base a foot or so to give some more head room. I'm only 5'10 so shouldn't really bang my head in there if I put shelves on each side keeping me in the middle.

Look like the greenhouse we built last year. I agree, it was hell. The screws break when you try to screw the bolts in too tight. The company we bought it off messed up royally, so we didn't get all the parts we needed, they were instead shipped out over the course of 2 months, they continued to mess up the whole time.

I would be super pissed. Short of the crappy instructions this thing isn't too bad. I'm going to reinforce it with some wood and the shelving inside. We get some pretty strong winds through here. I haven't tightened anything past hand tight yet so I can shift things easy if needed. Once all the panels are in i'll go through and button it down some more.

crappy pics today now that they are bouncing back from being under watered. They was all crowded on that top shelf.

Omni color getting some pods. I so need to use this in some crosses this year. Was thinking X paper lantern, X amarillo , X bbg7 something along those lines. Would love to get a larger color changing pod that still tastes good.

Lots of runty bahamian goat pods I need to pick but hard to get to. I'm going to bring this plant outside and plant in a 30 gal pot Hopefully it bounces back from xplant shock and produces some normal size pods. Will probably overwinter it in the greenhouse.

BLS on the paper lantern x butch t yellow in the hydro. I bought some spray to try on it. May just end up scrapping that plant.

Go MC, go ... LOL ...

That's a great pic of BLS, but you should burn that fucter man!

It goes away pretty easily. I had it on some plants last year and as soon as they went outside it was gone. My other cross plants that was in hydro cabinet with it had some but has since gone away. It's not as bad as what you have to deal with there. Going to try a spray for it first if that don't work may move into a pot on other side the yard.

It's interesting that yours doesn't have the necrotic holes in the centers of the dark spots ...

I can't think of a scientific reason why it would be any less virile there, other than the lack of relative humidity, which is a huge part of the transmission vector, but ...

I'd still burn it like a witch, LOL!

In the final stretch on the green house, got it all together and the roof panels in. The panels seem a little flimsy even with the clips in so picked up a bunch of self tapping screws and will zip a few in each panel to keep them from coming loose and blowing away. Tomorrow i'm going to frame up some shelving and finish putting it together.

Anxious to see your greenhouse completed. Someday I may build one.

It's getting there, I got most the shelving built today just got to put all the slats on.

How it will look once the slats are in

I should be able to put all the side panels in tomorrow or use a headlamp tonight and get them all on. It's dark now and can't do any more nailing though. Unless I use screws to put the slats on ... hmmm

A tip is to put in a few extras of those metal thingies that hold in the panels. Even with 4 on each side I've had wind blow out my panels, and it's a pain. The shelving looks really good! Do you intend to just use the greenhouse for small plants before plant out and not grow anything there in the summer?

I said F it and used some self tapping screws and screwed right though the panels into the fame. I didn't trust how floppy they was with the silly clips. Not sure yet if i'm going to keep plants in there this summer. Mainly for seedling starts and over wintering plants if it will stay above freezing in there.

Cloudy for next few days so went ahead and put all the peppers inside. With windows propped open and door open it was 68 inside and 52 outside. When I get off work in morning curious to see how warm it stated.

I'm going to take the top shelf off the one on right and just leave it as one shelf for my taller plants.

The damned mushroom compost I bought was loaded with sunflower seeds. I have them popping up all over the garden now... damn it.

The pea gravel was a mistake. I should have used river stone or something. It's too small and gets caught in my boot treads and I track it in the house. Dog keeps chewing on them and my wife is getting pissed. I'm going to either lay a piece of plywood down middle as a walk way or rake it all to the sides and lay larger stone down middle.
