Yeah it's a fun one for the regulars. Have to have fun once in awhile.

Duo December - One ingredient, cooked two ways. Your choice of ingredient.

Deep Fried December - Everything must be deep fried, even sides. One non-deep fried side allowed.

Both of those sound awesome to me, I would probably lean towards the Duo, but then again, I love to see my food bubble as it cooks...

Yeah I'm diggin' it. It's got my vote.

I think the DD would almost be too wide open unless the ingredient choice was limited.

However if you wanted to get the creative juices really flowing, what about a non-traditional DFD... a main ingredient not normally done fried, with some non-traditional fried sides and one non-fried side?
Sure, the choices would be endless also, but would open up a chance at some really insane recipe possibilities. :woohoo:

Duo will take some serious creativity to win. That's what I like. A roasted chicken and friend chicken won't cut it!

Hey Coach, Think you can do deep fried SALSA? THAT would be a challenge!

I'm groovin' on the December Double. Maybe to contain it a little, it could be a protein 2-ways, but ya know, if someone wants to do broccoli 2-ways, GO FOR IT! If broccoli can win a TD, why not?

I was thinking it might have to be a protein. And it has to be the same ingredient two ways. So if you buy a rack of ribs, you have to do ribs two ways. Sure you can shred the meat off one for a different dish, BUT you can't do ribs and a pork chop. You have to choose one ingredient and think of two preparations. There's really no point otherwise.

Good point on that THP.
You can't just say "pork", then do ribs and a chop. It would have to be a certain cut, piece, portion. Like chicken breast ( easy), gizzards (not so easy), lingua, trotters, wings, ox tail (HEY! I have some of those in the freezer!),

Maybe a requirement would be to purchase 1 lot of whatever the item is as part of the ingredients. I say 1 "lot" because it could be a big ol' mess of wings, which could be in 3 grocery store packages. Or a roast divided into two portions, you get the idea~~~~

I'm in Texas. We deep fry Coca Cola. Salsa is kids stuff.

OK, Side Challenge to TB-
regardless of what the TD is, I challenge TB to go against Coach in a deep fried Coca-cola-v-Salsa TD!

I think that TB and I are both holding onto those secret recipies until the right TD happens.
