Dog recipe

I don't have any pet cows. I don't know any cows. I have dogs that are like children to me.

: looks up :

"Huh?! What?!? Cows? Where?!?!?!"

: gets his gun, puts on tin foil hat :

"Where are they?"

Ok Philipperv, that's just wrong. Poor dog.

How'd he taste?

I didn't like most of the local recipes so I ordered some dog meat ground and made dog burgers. They were great! The meat is naturally spicy and makes you feel "hot". You can't get it in the market anymore but I really don't miss it either. We have our own dogs now and i'd never even think about "BBQing Rover".

Hey Philiperv....what part of the Philippines are you from? I was in the USMC and spent some time in Subic Bay. I hear that it's now a really nice resort town. It sure wasn't when I was there!

Phil - I kinda thought you'd say or show something about eating dog since you live in the philippines.

as for getting the pics removed, why ? I'm not offended by the pics, its just a way of life for others. in some places they would be in shock in you ate a cow/pig/rat/sheep since they consider them religious.

as for eating dog, sure why not I'd try it remember its just meat from a animal & I'm a carnivore not a vegetarian.
does that mean I would eat my own dog or go to the local pound, heck no. but if I was starving & there was a non pet of mine around well look out fido

I'm gonna leave 'em up. I just scroll past 'em fast.

Yeah, I know they eat dogs and other things I find distasteful in Asia, but that doesn't mean I have to think it's OK.

My wife has a saying about animals. She likes pork and beef, so she says " I can't know a pig ( or cow)". She likes to keep her relationships with species she eats impersonal. We'd probably make lousy farmers!

That's exactly where I am now. Not far from Barrio Barreto. Just bought myself a house and have settled down with my own chili farm. :(

Olongapo has really cleaned itself up now and has alot of mostly Taiwanese and Korean tourists. The Koreans are even spending $1 billion on their own shipbuilding project in Subic Bay:

Ironically, I was in the Air Force at Clark back in the 80s but Angeles City is a real pisshole now and I don't even like to VISIT there! :(

Yeah I couldn't resist. :P I guess I like the shock value. You do raise a good point about tolerance though. Many West Indians would find pictures from a typical U.S. slaughterhouse deeply offensive because of their reverence of cows and IGG would be offended if they weren't slaughtered. :(

The killing of dogs is illegal here now but many locals raise dogs to kill for their regional dishes and it is still considered a delicacy in some places. That picture was back in 2000 when the selling of dog meat was legal in Baguio and I picked the head up in the market there. After taking that picture I gave it to a local for his family to chow down on. I couldn't bring myself to kill a dog. I'm still a big softie like you guys. :(

OOOOOF....
welll..i been to Asia and i saw darn rats, bats, snakes hanging from peopes stores....is just one of those things for us that you just say...WHAT A F***..???
nothing to it for them....

I've tried snake...had a lot of poisonous ones roaming about the house when I lived on a farm in central NSW for a while. Seemed wasteful to kill them & toss the meat. Was very tasty, delicate flavor, almost like a gamy fish. Stewed it up with garden veges & chicken stock.
They still into the insects over there too Philipperv ?

A little but they aren't sold commercially like in Thailand. However, this nasty sh*t is:

Theres some sick ppl in the world. Here they call veal a delicacy ( http://www.britishmeat.com/veal.html ) and buying anything but free-range eggs is also paying some maniac to torture animals. Wish I could afford to buy 'happy animal' meat all the time but finances don't allow. In the meantime we just skip the veal & only get good eggs.

Have seen on tv the street vendors in Thailand selling chili locusts off a hotplate...everyone seems to like it too. Don't know if it would take off here, but no problem getting the ingredients :(

phil - let me guess they ate the brains of the dog ? since what else is edible on the head, oh wait the tongue & eyeballs are also. for me personally I wont eat nothing thats looking back at me :P

I saw on some show some time back, but these asians were eating LIVE octapuss & yes it was real in a real diner on the menu, they bring a plate of them live to the table & they just took their chop sticks & swirled them up like spahgitti noodles all the while these octapuss's are trying to slither away, & they just swolled them alive :( :(

Ever hear of "Marinara" comes from the Mediterranean Sea...live baby octopus in that ...from Europe and ancient enough that Homer {not the Simpson} talks of it.
