Dorset Nova Strain World Wide Environmental Evaluation Thread

Hey Nova, check out the little hook I got going with the Aji Lemon :). I'm giving coir a shot as a germinating medium and so far it seems to be working. I'm waiting on two more Aji seeds and three more Naga seeds to germinate in coir as well. If all goes according to last set, they should be sprouting within the next few days :). What did you do to these seeds to get them to work so well? How did you dry them and remove them from the pods? They're firing on all cylinders!

Hey Blister that is great news and i am very happy that the seeds are pumping and grinding :P

As for the treatment and extraction of the seeds i just cut out the placental tissue from the pods and dried the seeds here at work on top of the fridge. When the placenta was dry i then kind of rubbed the seeds free. One thing to note is that this produces hunan hand so let it be known that me AND my johnson suffered for this great cause :)

It should be duly noted that the original seeds came from Neil at THE HIPPY SEED COMPANY, so if you are after any other varieties that fire on all cylinders you should contact him through his website.

I am glad that you are having success in germinating in coir as i will now germinate in it as well, thanks for the heads up buddy :P

Sweet srin2, about another week should do it i would imagine :)

Sweet ?? hehe... thats why the mosquitos is always after me blood...

got a question.. i had a seed.. that sprouted the next day from the time i planted it in the peat pellet. it looked like a tail out of the seed but that's all it did. it looked like that the whole week then it rotted. :(
i think my mistake was that i put the seed on the surface and not deep enough.
Any answers for that ??

No, no answers. My only idea is that it may have been moist in the baggy and started to germ in there. I really don't think that it is possible for chinenses to germ that quick (assuming it was a Naga seed).

@ Grizzly it's pretty sweet seeing all these great germination rates :P Apart from the odd person that has had troubles these seeds are going great guns!
:woohoo:

It is a chinenses but i don't think its a naga. i know its not moist in there because i kept it in the air tight container with silica. hmmm mystery..

That is way cool! My seedling will be under 24 hour light until transplant. At the rate they are growing, that will be next week!;)

I sowed 3 of your Dorset Nagas and 2 Aji Lemons. THERE ALL ALIVE!!! I put the seeds in on 6/16 and all of them have reached up and risen from the dirt. I'll take some pix when I get back from camping. Sir Nova, your seeds rule.

Have you planted the Aji Lucento seeds I sent you? I still have more of those. And I'll have more in a few weeks since my mothership plant will be ready for picking really soon. So if anyone here needs seeds PM me.....

I've put all the Nagas and Aji Lemons into Jiffy pellets and have them sitting on my heat pad. It's been nearly a week and still no sign of germination.

Not overly worried the laundry get quite cold over night so the heat pad is fighting to keep the seeds warm.

here's aji lemon. it is doing great so far and i will try to overwinter it since it have no chance for setting fruits in this season.
dorsets are still 0/6
