Fatalii smackdown

Ha......... Nova........ mine sat stangnant over winter and survived.

I have re-potted it and its growing and flowering.

Finally after 9 months of total neglect its set a chilli that will grow bigger than 3mm like the 1st lot did.

Will take a pic and put it up soon. Its not a good looking plant!

cheers

My vote is for a Bhut Jolokia Smackdown Potawie, plenty of people have the seed. The Fatalii smackdown was fun and I don't want to whip ya'll (_!_) again next year.:hell: Some more pods mid-November from my garden!

I've actually found bhuts/nagas very easy to grow but personally I don't need to grow any more super-hotties for a few years now, so I'll have to pass on a bhut or 7-pot/pod smackdown

I feel as if a lot of people have trouble growing the White Bullet (or whatever it is called) so why not that one?

I'd still like to see the Bhut, but I didn't know about '08. I'd go for the Jalapeno or Orange Hab, but I don't have the space to grow for pod count. Next year I'm going for compact plants with full size fruit. The other factor to consider is the many different varieties of Jalapeno, which may even be a good thing. I'm planning on growing the Biker Billy Hybrid.

White Bullet won't make my garden again. Nice pepper, and nice plant, but way too many seeds for my taste.

Another one that could be intersting is the Aji Lemondrop...

:)There was also a jalapeno contest in 2008 but it was for longest pod, and there was a Peter pepper competition but pods were dissapointing for the most part. Whatever the challenge/comparison is this year, it has to be something that everyone can easily get seeds for and thats why I'm trying to get things going early for a January start

Glad everyone like the Fatalii pics. How about T. Scorpion, or maybe a brown pod since we have had red and yellow already. I like the sound of 2010 Scorpion Smackdown. First ripe pod with a tail of course. I think seed of the superhots are more widely distributed on this forum anyway. I might sit this one out to give ya'll a fighting chance.

First ripe pod is laying the smackdown? Weak. Should be biggest and most productive plant. Shitty lil plants can easily produce the first ripe pod dude. I wanna see a real show.:)

I agree, going for first pod just makes for a weaker plant in the end and makes it a contest instead of a comparison. I know ever year that we organize this, some people don't want to participate in a contest due to their geograpic disadvantage. Last year we made it a comparison but some still needed to turn it into a competition. I don't care how we do it but trying to make everyone happy never works and for me it just becomes a pain in the butt. I just hope we don't need to have catergories again this year for hydro and non-hydro, and hopefully everyone can start on the same date this time.

The only thing weak here is all the excuses of why ya'll Fatalii didn't win. The comparison part happens inside under shop lights so there is no geographic disadvantage to anyone. I don't know of any other way to judge this except first from seed to ripe pod. Smackdown is all about talking a little smack so if you can run with the big dogs, stay on the porch. Better luck next year.

Its hard to win when it was a comparison.
Do we want to make rules and have a contest this year, if so we could just go for something like longest or heaviest pepper, or tallest plant, or most productive plant.
