You're not rambling at all. You gave me thoughts for a second round. I have some pots that aren't opening that i might ditch and start fresh. I put my seeds barely 1/4in down. I planted these about 1/2" to see if it would help with having hats on...as you see in the pic, a couple still have their husk in place...they were planted in wet, seedstarting mix preheated to 86F...as it works out, that was perfect since the top of the mix dries out first and stays damp but not soaked...
