off-topic Good Mornin' Thread - For those that get up really early and post

Good morning.  TGIF!!!! Half day planned at the office and then off to mow the homestead.  I think some grilling and some cold beers will be in order after that.  Be safe and be good.

Ditto on that. Oh shoot, it's raining.  No yard work today, might as well chill inside and plan the next sauce or smoker run.  That will happen tomorrow.  Peppers on the grill, mow some grass, take a nap, go play some guitar, come back to eat, sleep, rinse and repeat.

Nmlarson - whatcha got growing in your new garden?
Good morning! I'm growing whatever I can! Ha! I gave up my community garden plots and was finally, after 25 years and the removal of seven large trees, able to put a garden in at home.

It's a small (26' x 8') container garden in an enclosure on the side of our house to keep deer, groundhogs, etc. out. There are two raised beds inside it, along with a LOT of fabric grow bags. The grow bags are working out great, with all the rain we had last month! Things have sort of outgrown the enclosure, and I just finished a second, much smaller, and closure to house the eggplants in the squash.

So far, I've picked sugar snap peas, a variety of spinach and lettuces, am now picking pole beans, some peppers are coming in, cherry, grape, roma and slicing tomatoes, bush beans, cocktail and slicing cucumbers, zucchini and yellow squash, along with a couple of eggplant plants. The yellow storage onions rotted out from so much moisture and there's not enough time left in the growing season for regular onions, so I'll put in some bunching onions where the lettuce was. Peppers are Aleppo, Piment d'Esplette, Frigatello, Piquillo, NuMex Primavera, NuMex Sauve Orange, Mad Hatter Bishop's Hat, peach and yellow biquinhos, a couple of Gypsy plants and an Inca Red Drop.

Along with all my herbs, two tropical Hibiscus trees, some perennials I never got planted last fall, some Cardinal Flower vines for the hummingbirds and a Passion Flower vine I've been trying to pollinate for passion fruit to make some hot sauce with.

It's lovely being able to walk out the back door into the garden!

Good morning everyone. Nmlarson - so nice to see your beautiful new garden space and ALL of the plants thriving so well. You are one lucky gal to have such a great garden outside your door! Thanks for the update and pics.

Good to see Chuck back here, though I know he is always super busy. Take more time for yourself and your son.

It looks to be a beautiful Saturday, though I still have many iris to dig up and conquer. Its what I get from being lazy and not dividing when I should. The gardens just get overrun, which is why we are starting to downsize a bit. Its a slow process when you do it by yourself.

Have a beautiful day and share your harvests.

this morning was get to check the plants, spray for aphids and white flies, too wet to cut grass ( oh shoot ), then got ready to smoke peppers, when neighbor called about a coral snake in the pool.  I am apparently the designated snake catcher for the neighborhood.  Cute little critter.
