Panama Canal, Charges River. Near Gamboa.

And is it actually the Panama Canal or Lake Gatun?

Spot on! :)

The Lake begins about 100 metres after the river junction, which is the exit/entrance (depending on which way you are travelling) to Culebra (Gaillard) Cut. It's a lovely place, Gamboa. If I had to pick a spot I'd like to retire in, it would be there.

I lived in Costa Rica for a year back in the '90s. I like the climate, the people, the food... but the earthquakes scare the sh*t outta me!

Someone else want to try a spot?

here's an easy one just to keep it going- shouldn't need clues-

yea, strip mine. have to google it......................

Nice image! good resolution!

No and no.

Not a strip mine, but alot of strippers near the mine.

Hay St has a certain "reputation" in the nearby town.

A pub in this town was violently shaken recently. It may have to be demolished.

With regard to this not being a strip mine, it's not like they have dug out a strip and then dug another nearby and filled in the previous one. These guys have been digging the SAME hole for a number of years. This thing gets deeper and wider (I think) the longer they mine there.
