Have you ever felt drawn to a place...

...and you have no idea why?

For me, it's Uluru.

Soon as I can get both the money and the time, I'm going there to find out wtf is going on and why it pulls me so. Perhaps those Pitjantjatjara folks could help.

Soooooo, anyone else experience something like this?

Have you started making mud sculptures in your dining room yet? Wife or girlfriend think you're crazy? Are you hearing a five note ditty over and over in your head?

Its an amazing place ! I have been there a couple of times.
There is nothing like it at sunrise or sunset !
I actually got to climb on it back in the early 90`s before they tried to stop people.
Also you must get to KAKADU National park if your in that part of the world !

I really want to go here......

I've always wanted to stand on the great wall of china and I got to do that in 2007 and now I really want to go to Egypt and walk amoung the great pyramids, and sail down the Nile!!!!! I had a 16 day trip booked to Egypt which would of had me there for the last 2 weeks, but it got cancelled when my ex and I went our seperate ways.....:(

I'd love to take a trip to New Zealand as well!!!!

Pic was from Photbucket

Yes. I always feel like moving somewhere else, moved nine times over the past ten years. Maybe cause I'm half Roma?

I want to get out of Southern California. An island (drawn towards the Carribean?) that I can grow year round on sounds good.

For me? I want to go to the most beautiful place on earth.

10236 Charing Cross Road
Los Angeles, California :) :)

The time to worry is when you start to look like Richard Dreyfuss.

I'm not sure what that means. But I did laugh. And I would worry.

Drefuss played the main character in Close Encounters of the Third Kind, which is what TB was hinting at.

Skydiver, you're an RN aren't you?
Why don't you take a 6 month or 1 year travel assignment down there? There's opportunities there for different specialties.

I find some place or another to be drawn to every few years. In the past it has varied from the Oktoberfest in Munich to the IGGfest in Cleveland. :D
My next journey takes me to Assam, India in April to go chili hunting.

Sounds like a good holiday Perv.

Seriously, for me its the four corners area of the US. I've lived in Utah while in the Air Force and have been in the four corners area plenty of times, but for some reason every time i was in that area it was the only time in my life i've ever felt at "home". So it's been drawing me back for some time now.

Open Spaces.

For most of my early 20's it was the remote parts of Aus. Central, and also NW (Kimberley's).

Nothing like taking the straps of the bed roll on the m/c in the middle of BF nowhere and hearing NOTHING. And I mean nothing. Well, except the rining in in your ears from the NOTHING.

Then in my later 20's I went to the Yukon, arctic circle and Alaska. I read "Into the Wild" and I would love to hike/camp in Denali for a couple of weeks in summer, but with someone that knows the country, and carries both a rifle (food) and a handgun (bears).

Nice hooker Dick!

I am most at home in The red river gorge in Eastern Kentucky.

Breathtaking views, few railings, backcountry heaven, gorgeous foliage.

In the dead of winter is my favorite.

Went camping there for my birthday 8 years ago....went to bed soggy and drizzling rain, woke up the next morning to 3 inches of snow!!!

Incredible feeling. There's just no way to kmake much of a living in the middle of nowhere.
