Next stage, you're ready to go.

Gallons are still a ways off for me and I'd rather not do any pot up but it might be unavoidable since I have started a month earlier this year. Since I have several extras of the hot variety I'll probably try to sell a few at the market mid to late April like last year. This year I'd like to pot some up into let's say the smallest pot that it would bare maybe a dozen or so pods of  Bhuts, MoAs, or Habs. The buyer could get a nice size plant, ready to set on the patio, just add water, sunshine, and  TLC. Is 2 gal big enough, or 3 the minimum ya think?

I have about 50 3 gallon pots that I use for smaller pepper plants.  In the ground is better, but I would think 3 gallon would be plenty big enough to sell the plants in as a permanent home.

I agree. Annuums did well in 3 gallon pots. They would be fine for a small bhut patio plant.
Jeff, this is where potting soil consumption takes off. :D them 1 gallon pots will do some damage to your pepper hobby fund.

I got 4 cubic feet to play with and a 5 dollar off coupon.  I am hoping to not have to pot up a lot, but those brown morugas have some monster leaves on them.  Never seen pepper leaves get this big so fast.  I will be doing the manzano and the two MoA that I planted Oct 15th.  Then I think I will try putting one of my peters in deeper than normal and see what happens.

I am now watering everything every other day.  I want to start cutting back on the heat some, but with night time temps below zero, I don't want it too get too cold in there during the night.  I still have some plants without their first set of trues.

Potted up four of my plants to the gallon pots this morning.  I did a peter pepper (not the biggest one) and I put him in to coty.  I also potted up the plants I started October 15th last year, 2 MoA and one Manzano.  If Pete does well, I can plant some of the leggier plants a little deeper.  I still can't get over the size of the leaves on my December plantings.

Pot ups looking happy! That's quite the stack of gallon pots you have there!!!

Thank you.  And looking at my plants that I have going already, 60 pots aren't looking like they will be enough.  IKR

I ordered these through the greenhouse megastore as that is where I ordered my 3 gallon pots from.  Well, they don't pack them well and I had 5 of these 40 cent pots damaged.  On their FB page they told me they would send me out a replacement for the 5.  An hour later I realized I didn't have enough and asked if they would do me a solid on shipping if I placed another order.  They told me to place another order and it will ship free.  8 bucks I didn't need to spend and I needed the pots anyways.  Should have ordered more the first time, but at least they are doing it up right.

I will post when companies do things wrong, but I also post when they do things right and I also then become a permanent customer.

Awesome! Good to know they care about their customers. And I just googled them, glad you mentioned it. Now I know where to get some of my next pot-up supplies! :)

My grow table top will hold 32 gallon pot ups.

You sir have a problem. You have way more than 32 plants, heck I have more than 32 plants and I'm pretty sure your grow is bigger than mine. Got a couple more of those tables and lights laying around?

You sir have misunderstood :)  This is a location I have never utilized before.  This is extra space.  Overflow.  32 plants I don't have to cram in somewhere.  I still have two shelves free of plants, another shelf that just needs a light.  Another shelf I can make work, 2 shelves that currently hold the OW, and within a month I should be able to pull the OW out and put them on their old table.

Or I can leave the OW where they are and move a lot of gallon pots to here...

Pot ups are looking good HJeff. I am envious of your space... planning a little of my own. What size pots did you have them in before the pot up? Are those half gallons or 6" or 4"? It's hard to tell in the photos.

May have to repurpose an outgrown diaper table for some of the faster-growing chinenses. I tell ya I had no luck last year... this year everything is growing so fast. I think it must have to do with that THP charm.

3 1/4 I believe, perhaps 3 1/2...I think I went with the 3 1/4 so the trays would hold 18 plants.  15 plants fit in the tray so I can turn them and get four trays under the lights on each shelf.

HAHA. Well, I do understand making use of previously unused space. I just installed a 4 receptacle outlet on the workbench thinking that if/when I needed more lights, I needed to have electric there so better to be proactive and have the electric before I needed it.

So I see here, the disease addiction is spreading nation wide! But IMHO that's good, gardening is soul food. Nothing is better than seeing your work produce and turn into a bountiful harvest.

Jeff,

Your up-potted plants look really healthy!

Congrats on the 1 gal pot score. I bought 70, and am out, had 30 or so 3/4 gals  they are full too. So I guess I too am a carrier of the disease addiction, such is life ;)

Keep it green! The plants are looking super!

I love watching the stuff grow and trying new things.  Lots of new stuff going in the garden this year.  I love gardening because you can't get any better vegetables than the ones you grew yourself.  Dang it....making myself crave fresh veges now.  Chard just hooked so I don't think it is ready to eat...perhaps tomorrow :)  Multiple seeds per seed pod so I have a second hook coming.  Not sure if I can separate them or if I am going to have to do that cull thing.  Perhaps it can grow in a clump.  Research time.
