Maybe if there is a wicking substance in the hoses to activate a siphon action to help it across the hump. Iffy though.

With the hoses connected at the bottom, wicking shouldn't be needed.  I have some spare aquarium airline hose somewhere here.  I am sure I can rustle up some plastic bottles.  Might have to use some silicon to get the test bottles to seal around the hose.

Damn, I liked that 6 or 7 times. Okay, that is enough. Food pics stay in my glog. To heck with the cooking threads.

That is why you never surf the glogs on an empty stomach.

Sounds like a very spicy ketchup, with the tomato flavor?

Haha "ONLY" 8 bags left ;)

DAMN! $5 each? And others are getting them for $10-$20... is there a secret supply somewhere I dont know about? they are $100 at HD!!!

Better flavor than ketchup.

Have you looked into bottling plants or car washes?  They both use the drums and might give them or sell them cheaper.

Gloggin on an empty stomach = danger zone.

I have not... but great idea. I'll try that. Thanks!

Looks good. How many rounds after this? Just tomato and onion?

I will be starting the onions at the same time as the peppers.

March 15th the tomatoes, tomatillos, and ground cherries go in.

April 1st I will get the chard/lettuce/kale/cabbage/kohrabi/cukes started.  This would make them 4 weeks old by May 1st with the last ave frost May 15th.  Without row covers, I am not sure if I want to get new young plants stuck in out there even though they are cold hardy.  First time for starting these inside, so my timing might be off.  Plus, mother nature could be off too.  Last two seasons it was May 20 something before last frost.

10 55 gallon drums ready to start the rain barrel system once the weather clears.  Will probably get 10 more once I see how these work out.

For some reason my list got hosed and only 6 sections of the 12 section tray showed up.

Looking good HJeff. How is the water system going to work?

Garage is a 3 1/2 car garage.  Along the back I am going to have each downspout go into a barrel.  All the barrels will be connected together through a pvc manifold like system at the bottom of the barrels so the water will be the same level in each barrel.  Then at the garden end I will have a spicket to hook the hose to.  Having the fill pipes come in at the bottom of the barrel is the only way I see to be able to drain them all from one spicket without having to put in two lines.  A overflow fill line, and a drain line.

How much vertical drop do you have between the bottom of your barrels and your garden?

I ran 300'+ of drip tape off a 3/4" x 50' manifold line. with about 8-12' of drop when I was using some barrels just above the garden. The drips tapes were less than 30' each. Keeping the drip tapes shorter seemed to work better. By the time I got enough pressure  to push a long tape seems I was blowing fitting. I still need to get a pressure reducer, cause my rain tank has 70' of head on it now. I didn't fool with it much last year because it rained every other day. This year could be different so I got to start that project back up too. It may take a bit of trial and error, but you'll get it.

Not sure of the drop, but I would say 10 feet or more.  Mainly using it to water with and not necessarily run a drip system, but its a thought.

All of my HBJ are starting to fork for me.

First Manzano is looking nice.

Had a visitor to the winter compost pile.

After organizing the grow room some, I got room on a spare shelf for 20 gallon pot ups.  Still have room for 6 more on the current gallon pot shelf.  This will clear off all the plants I have on a lower shelf.  My next round of peppers will be able to go there once I pot up into 3 1/2 inch pots.  Another shelf that is holding 20ish 3 1/2 pots can get potted up and go on top of the grow table.  So it looks like I need to buy one light fixture and I should be okay on space.  And this will be leaving the OW on their two shelves in there already.  If need be, they can get moved out April 1st I am thinking.Hopefully sooner if the weather holds.

Now I just hope the tomatoes don't go crazy on me this year lol.

Man you've been busy today. I've been liking your posts all day.

Walleye looks great. Rain barrels Hoot!!.

I bet you can't eat that possum. Too bad.

Oh, and the plants look nice too.

I was reading up on possum today and they say you can use it in place of chicken or rabbit....considering I know what they eat, I think I will pass on eating one of them things.  I also read that their fur used to be shaved down and their hide made into felt for pool tables.  Seen some really nice looking possum fur items.  Makes you wonder about a throw for the mancave couch lol.

Nice updates....I had a dream that I was falling......falling behind in the Glogs, that is...no dream about that. Lot's of info for me to catch up on here.

Cool photos of the HBJ and the "hairy" Manzano. The lighting for the photo is "natural"...nice.

That's a perfect size portion of Walleye, can never get enough of that. I may hit the fish mkt today...to see what's the (flown in) "catch of the day"....ha

Those squirrel and possum shots would get both Granny and Jethro drooling.

55 gal rain barrels are a great idea...hope you got them for a sweet price, the molded ones sold at the land-scraping and local nurseries must be made out of gold.

Oops, I see more Walleye with the Red Fury. Glad you like the sauce, pretty good on slices of pizza also. Funny you should say about the tomato flav...I'll take that as a complement though since there's no tomato product in it. Jamaican and St Martin Red Habs, Garlic, Salt and aged Cane Vinegar.....basic red sauce

I hope we get an early spring so the plants can get hardened off early May. My seedlings are so moving but will be in 1 gal pots by the end of April.

Glad you took it as a compliment, it is a great flavor.  I can see it going great on pizza.

Early hardening off will suit me fine as well.

The barrels were 5 bucks each.
