Challenge accepted, mon frair. Winner is subjective unless there's an unbiased party to taste test both entries. Pretty don't mean crap if it doesn't taste right

Looks good, but I challenge you to a gumbo cookoff at a date later to be determined...

I make a pretty mean gumbo, but I'm not competing with a Louisiana boy. That is craziness. You have fun losing to him Jay T.

Phil, anything else added to the jambalaya that isn't shown in the pics? I'm going to have to try that some day. I usually just make gumbo when we want Cajun cooking but I think I need to branch out.

Hmmmm..... no, I think I put everything I added in the pics. But that's the great thing about these recipes. They're very flexible. If you think of an ingredient you'd like to have in there, just add it and it should come out fine! Good luck..... jambalaya can be a tough one to get right. Getting the rice cooked right is the hardest part.

I forgot about this, I plan on just coming there and cooking with you while throwing a few back.  That work?  You have seen my gumbo already.  Hope I am worthy...

Indeed you are worthy! I like your plan better than any challenge! And I'm prone to knock a few back from time to time..... like now.

Whoa Phil, no comments? I missed all this amazing stuff too!

The smoked ham... with a berry cornbread, never thought of that, but adds a nice sweetness to that meal. and berries go great with smoke flavor.
